Hello Everyone!
We just got our new album "2 Step Marv" out in stores last November 6! For those who have bought it please post your opinions here!
For those who aren't familiar with the band please check out our website http://kjwan.net where you can stream some of the new tracks and update your self with skeds, profile etc.
I would really appreciate it if "hate" posts would be constructive. (i.e. how do you think the band should improve musically, with the style etc. or like how you wish the band should have executed the new songs etc.)

i really dont know much about instruments and blah blah blah but i love the album. gustong gusto ko na talaga ang kjwan from the 1st album(at si Moronic MAKMAK from <s> pa) anyway, nung 1st album kasi may ibang kanta like slip na parang naiisip ko na pwede tong ipasok sa <s> album(kahit mejo OP cia dun, pwedeng ijustify), pero sa 2 step, may sariling solid tunog na kayo at esp Moronic MAKMAK, and i really dig ang bass lines ni KELLEYBOYH hahah :D anywho... i cant really go reviewing each song ngaun cause im lazy like that. :D heheh maybe bukas. pero kanina pinakinggan ko both albums and cant wait for the third.(my mom's making fun of the way makmak said lihim like leeeeeeee HEM... hahaha) :D
i <3 u too jorel haha and your monster egotrips sa 1st album haha.. sana iaccept mo na ang invite ko sa multiply heheh :D i <3 kjwan so mucho you knowo. :mrgreen:
PS: you are so goooooood live, i dunno ha. i really cant tell bout the instruments, how clean each was excecuted blah blah kasi di ko namn talaga alam heheh. pero i like you(kjwan) like that. and my god, the intensity. i so love you. ima go rent you out on my debut yey!

I love your 2nd album! It's very eclectic, but still true to the band's identity.
Aside from "Pintura", another fave is "Can't do that". Sooo sexy...

Love the new album. A very versatile one. One minute I'm hearing heavy crunching riffs then suddenly you'll be warped into an almost jazzy funk(ish) tune. I hear a lot of different styles in here which is good, no..., rather great. The album doesn't bore you out.
Got to say I like better you're slow driving songs like Can't Do That, Shai and Focus.

great album! i personally liked the first album more but the good thing is, 2stepmarv is not a rehash of the previous one. it's a rocking record on its own. more power to your band, Jorel! :)

MUSIKANTWIST: thanks so much for listening to the CD. im glad you really liked it. And yes we really make an effort to sound awesome live im glad you see it that way! we were actually just wondering a while back how we sound live. so i guess its a good thing that you see us that way! salamat!

Whats up everybody!
1.Things have been really going great for the band. Were currently playing some really fun shows lately. Thanks to everyone who went to our gigs at UST Engineering, La Salle GHills, Ateneo and Center for the Arts Bar. Its really you guys who keep us going on! Weve been having so much fun playing for you guys. hope to see you all again in the near future. Sorry i havent been able to take pictures i always forget to charge the batts of my cam.
2.Anyway thanks to everyone who have been voting at the MYX Music Awards. According to our street team members, were currently at the forefront of the Indie Artist category, 2nd in MYX Live and 1st in the Guest Appearance. Please keep on voting! It would be awesome if we all could win this one!

Things have been pretty sweet for the band lately! Our single "SA ILALIM" has hit the local radio and music channel charts this week!
Thanks to everyone who made our single "SA ILALIM" number 1 in the NU107 Stairway to Seven. This really means a lot to the band specially that it came from you guys! Please keep on voting for it!
"SA ILALIM"'s video is also number 5 today at the MYX Daily Top Ten which means a lot of you guys have been voting! Thanks so much for that!

Kjwan will be the featured Celebrity VJ's for MYX in april 2007. We will be hosting Rock MYX, MYXilog, My MYX and Backtraxx from april 1 to 28. Please check out the channel for schedules. Check out our inserts and intros its gonna be great! We had fun shooting all the episodes last monday. It took us at least 10 hours to finish all 30 episodes / inserts that day. Hopefully, you guys will get to see all!

and yet...aside from sa ilalim and pintura....i cant match songs with their titles....as in tune lang alam ko....nde ung titles.

We just heard our manager confirm that our current single "One Look" hit the number one spot in Cagayan de Oro and in Davao! Thats really awesome news! Thanks to everyone who have been voting for the song! The band will be part of an Malaysian - Indonesian - Filipino band contest called the IKON! The contest will start this June and end a few months after! We will be needing your support on this because this can be a great opportunity for the band to showcase our music here in the Philippines and hopefully abroad! This event is supported by Solar Sports and RPN 9 here in Manila. Wish us luck! Its some sortof battle of the bands set up and well be playing alongside local heavyweights as well! Cross your fingers everyone! Theres gonna be an SMS component so it would be great if you guys can help out! Ill make banners soon when i get more details!
SHAI VIDEO --------------
Yes people! "Shai" is the next single for 2StepMarv! We shot the video last May 13 in Sikatuna Village! Our friend Mo Zee (who also directed a film "Elegie" starring Marc) directed it! We just finished viewing the final cut and it was really awesome! Sorry that i wasnt able to take any pictures because i was in a rush that day and totally forgot to do so! But tell you what! Ill try to salvage some and show you guys some screencaps!
This also marks our first step into really straying away from our niche rock sound. Hopefully you guys support us because this is the direction we want to go into now! Some sort of ambient / rock / broken beats type if you know what i mean! We want to showcase our diversity to everyone so its not just always that classic rock flavor (which is not bad too!)
Any constructive discussions on this topic shall be welcome!

Someone just left a comment on my livejournal about someone named Yongkang commenting on our set last Friday at the Baybeats festival in Singapore. He/She also took a photo of Marc hoisting the Filipino Flag during our instrumental parts! I just got goosebumps when i saw the photo!
GRABE!!! WALA LANG!!! IM STILL HUNGOVER FROM THAT GIG!!!The crowd was so nice. they were listening to us even if they didnt know us at all! I just really love playing in front of new people! That experience was priceless!!! Singapore was GREAAAAATTTTTTTT!!! I love you crowd at Baybeats!

First I would like to congratulate KJWAN for winning in the recently concluded IKON ASIA. That only means one thing, we are the best when it comes to creating excellent music (Shhh... Even without the support of the MAJOR RECORD LABELS!!!!) .
Well, regarding 2 Step Marv. I have listened to it several times already but if I were to rate it from 1-5 . I'll give it a 3.5 . The KJWAN sound that I was looking for wasn't there anymore. (Sorry Guys). I still prefer the old album than the new one. More Angst please.
