Pinoy rock bands of the 80's
« on: December 03, 2005, 10:17:45 AM »
I just found this in one of my old jingle songhits. These bands probably gave a big influence on our newer bands today.

I have stated that there are more bad sounding suhrs then there are good ones.

do any of you know the band (singer?) sampaguita? i've been listening to an album of theirs lately and i really like that one song nosi ba lasi... it's so old school, haha. i'm into those old artists and bands like momoe yamaguchi, sylvie vartan, etc. so when i heard this i was like, "oh [gooey brown stuff], this is cool!" aaanyway...

i think "nosi balasi" is not that old, compared to juan dela cruz stuff, 1990 o late 80's na yata yung nosi balasi.

naging guitarist pa ni sampaguita yung anak nya (they call him cowboy) nung mga late 90's, and that dude can play  8)

no problem  8)

juan dela cruz band, members were joey pepe smith (original drummer and vox) wally gonzalez on guitars and mike hanopol on bass, then the later part of JDC, they added the late ed "bosyo" fortuno as their drummer. famous hits such as ang himig natin, tister's enemy number one, beep beep, balong malalim and no touch.

the picture in the first photo is the rage band fronted by juan miguel salvador sikat sila noong 80's dahil sa kanilang live performances na full of energy.  but they do mostly covered songs like a showband.
