Further sub-foruming in Philmusic?
« Reply #276 on: June 15, 2010, 01:40:28 PM »
Taking off from Boosted's thread in GC: http://talk.philmusic.com/board/index.php?topic=190368.0
I'd like to suggest further sub-foruming of some of Philmusic's subforums:

1. Split up Guitar Central, Pinoydrums, Bass Place, Keyboards R Us, and Blowing Section into:
- Gear (gear news, acquisitions, tech tips, buying advice, diy's, gear videos/soundclips, etc)
- Guitar/drums/bass/keyboard/horn school (spin off from the Music School)
- Anything guitar (artists, rants, heroes, news, projects, etc)

2. With the above suggestion, dissolve the Music School forum.

3. Split up MTPA into:
- Recording --> HW and SW subforums
- Performance/PA stuff

3. Because of the volume of posts, Classifieds: Guitar Accessories can be split up into
- Amps
- Pedals/effects
- Others (picks, strings, straps, hardware, parts, etc)

4. Merge or dissolve the Pinoy Rock & Pinoy Pop forums... I don't see the difference anymore. :)
Instead of these, create "Pinoy Mainstream pop/rock" and "Pinoy Underground pop/rock" subforums.

Yun lang. Ktnxbye :)

SUGGESTION: a new section for FOR RENT INSTRUMENTS ETC
« Reply #277 on: September 05, 2010, 02:13:23 PM »
Good day Forumers..this is just a suggestion of mine..

can we have a section for "For Rent" equipments only?..para atleast pag me nangangailangan ng sound system me isang section na lang silang pupuntahan dito sa philmusic...di yung nagkalat ang isang ads in every section (guitars, guitar accesories, bass etc), sorry didnt mean to offend some of our fellow forumers here na me ganitong business lalo na ngayong "ber" season maganda ang ganitong mga business...its a section for rent lang..then dun makikita and mai-co-compare yung mga instruments and pricing offered ng mga sound system rentals, mas may options yung mga customers. tama po ba? well, its just a suggestion=) PEACE!!!

Stolen Musical Instruments Registry
« Reply #278 on: October 02, 2010, 04:00:08 PM »
Hi there,

I'm a recent US Repat and new to PhilMusic dot com (after being referred by the MI guru from Audiophile dot ph).

I apologize if this is a repeat but I wasn't about to wade through the seemingly endless amount of posts just to ask if there is a registry for stolen/fenced MI's in the RP, specifically electric guitars and electric guitar amplifiers in the NCR.

Cheers!

kLaSS_aXe

And BTW, there's a special circle in Hell for people who steal musical instruments and in no way should any of us be a part in another musician's misery. I hope everyone is in concurrence with that.

New section for AMPS?
« Reply #279 on: October 04, 2010, 12:39:31 AM »

from page 1 to 7 or 8 lang ha posts where updated today and yesterday pa.
may mga nag post kasi na selling amps but not updating their post daily or every other day.
I spend mostly 2 hours sa classifieds kasi some sellers are not writing their title on what they are selling so I have to look into their page pa to see what they are selling (baka andum yung hinahanap ko) and also I stop by on some pages na tempting din ung binebenta nila.
di mo rin alam, hanap ng hanap ka sa pages 10 and above (ex. mga 1 hr na spend mo) tapos ina update pala ng seller ung post nya nasa page 1 na. nakaka asar din. pero me using a proxy server para maka pasok sa Philmusic, I always have this problem at mabagal yung loading nya sa page.
and there are other people na walang internet sa bahay so sa cafe sila mag update ng posts nila and di lagi daily nila ma update
alam mo naman magastos din if daily nag rent ng pc.
sa experience ko lang before, I bought my peavey transtube from a seller na ung post nya was on page 23 something...
I bought my peavey head sa post na page 10.
if gagamitin ko ung search tool lagi nalang nag error at if ever mag work ung search bar may mga title din na wrong spelling so walang panalo!

pwede ba to mods new section para sa amps? guitar amps insert narin ung bass amps.
or 21 day rule bump tulad ng jemsite :D

violins? and also the woodwind instrument?
« Reply #285 on: November 11, 2010, 09:24:42 PM »
can't seem to find where the violins are located here, also the woodwinds, should it be located in the unclassified classifieds? i didn't try to find it there, that section is a mess, it says that non musical ads will be removed yet almost all of the ads from pages 1-4 are not musical(did not tried to go deeper)

Unfortunately, there is no classification for violins and other orchestral instruments here.

As for the classifieds, we do try to clean them up but as you can see...

Noted on the requirement for an 'orchestral' classifieds. We'll take it up with the admins. (Gian? can you tweet JA about this?)

In line with uncommon instruments, I am also part of a ukulele enthusiast group and so far, we are having a hard time finding space here. For now we are corresponding only in facebook, but I'm sure it won't hurt to have some representation of the group in Philmusic too.

That's what the Classical Gas forum is all about although, admittedly, it is quite a limiting designation. Might I suggest the Pop, Rock and Jazz forums if you happen to engage in those genre? I'll have a talk with michiko and the admins if we can arrange something, but please don't hold your breath waiting. The forums are beginning to appear ungainly to me because of the breadth of its scope and size.

Thanks, spammer, for upping this thread. Yeah, I also think there should be some sort of registry in each of the classifieds forums. Non-info comments should be deleted to facilitate finding items.

We can try that, although to be honest, I don't know anyone who owns and operates a darkroom anymore. (Ahhh, I miss the days when I did B&W photography along with developing the film and printing the negatives in our darkroom. My dad did the colored processing on the other hand... I'm beginning to miss Kodachrome.)

New Forum suggestion - Anything Goes Classifieds
« Reply #295 on: March 03, 2011, 01:01:49 PM »

Re: New Forum suggestion - Anything Goes Classifieds
« Reply #296 on: March 04, 2011, 08:20:10 AM »
I think we should keep in mind that the classifieds in PM were originally meant to cater to the needs of musicians. The classifieds were brought about because a lot of gear was being traded in the past and creating a separate classified ad forum just made things easier to manage during the early years of PM.

To open the floodgates to 'Anything Goes' ads will mean a tremendous load to the mods that we, by and large, cannot manage effectively. Furthermore, there are other sites that can cater to ads not covered by PM.

I'm sorry, but we cannot grant this request.

another disadvantage of your suggestion is baka maraming magbebenta ng mga non-sense things. sayang lang bandwidth so i agree with sir KitC on this one. baka mahassle lang ang mga mods and admin.

I second emotion sa mga nasabi sa taas kasi kaya nga "philmusic" e.. nahihirapan na nga minsan pumasok dahil sa dami ng nag PPM, mahihirapan pa dahil sa ibang bagay. :-)

it's just my thought.. :)

suggestion for MUSICIANS WANTED
« Reply #299 on: April 18, 2011, 03:16:05 PM »
Sana magkaroon din ng parang scam and spam alert sa musicains wanted since minsan may mga indianero. This would be the least we can to report these people and to be able to inform about others. Medyo considered narin kasing spam yun eh considering the wasted of time lalo na pag di umattend sa usapan. Thanks
