I just really like the way it could go from blues to metal without a hitch. Just the right mix of bass and mids, every note feels like there is weight to it yet the highs could really scream too. Drawback lang talaga niya is clean. The clean doesn't suck it's just that other pickups may be better for clean tone purpose.

I know a Single or a Single-Hum(for H-S-H 5-way switch) pickup configuration would probably 99 times/100 sound better for clean but i really don't bother when playing live. What can you guys recommend for a pickup that sounds good overdriven as well as clean?

Seymour Duncan APH1.

Warm, Round, Smooth distortion sounds. Very articulate. Sounds great at any gain level. Awesome clean tones.

Hindi dahil sa DMZ fan ako ha pero pansin ko lang talaga,
sa demos, songs, recordings with SD is maninipis ang tunog.. IMO. Peace!

Andami mong choices with the two brands. Ang dami ko na ring nasubukan, at mayroon akong gitara na may DiMarzio at SD.

Siguraduhin mo ang spacing na bibilhin mo ay tama sa gitara mo. Ang napansin ko sa DiMarzio ay well suited siya sa Ibanez, lalo na pag yung mga F-Spacing nila para sa mga trem-equipped units nila. Otherwise, ang SD ang mas compatible sa lahat ng brands, regular or Trembucker spaced. Andaming mga nagsasabi na wala namang pinagkaiba pagdating sa spacing... please. Anlaki kaya ng difference.

Recommendations ko:

DiMarzio
Neck - PAF Pro, Mo' Joe, Bluesbucker, Air Zone
Bridge - Breed, Norton, Tone Zone

SD
Neck - Jazz, JB (yes, maganda sa neck din ito), P-Rails neck, '59
Bridge - JB, Custom 5, P-Rails neck or bridge

pagdating naman po sa mga single coil humbucking pups, ano po mas chug chug? sd(lil' 59, lil screamin demon) o dimarzio(tone zone s, super distortion s)? nag hahanap po kasi ako ng medyo mabigat na dating na pup tapos litong lito na ako sa dami ng nakikita ko sa forums at reviews at sa youtube. sana po may makatulong

DiMarzio for me. All my guitars are loaded with DiMarzio.

3/4s are loaded with DiMarzio D-Sonic and Air Norton. I found the tone that I want through these DiMarzio models.

I suggest you go full-size! (humbucker)

Iba pa rin kasi power & response ng full-size humbucker. Change your pickguard para magfit!

I recommend BREED bridge.

nsa preferred tonal characteristic yan ng isang musician at siguro itugma na din natin sa type of kahoy na gamit sa isang gitara pati na rin ng overall characteristic nito. though personally, i have this notion na dimarzio are more "edgier", "aggressive", "metal" compared to sd pups which i label as "rock", "melody", "bluesy" and "creamy".. but then again, don't mind me.. it's just me.

I go for Dimarzio pickups for my Ibanez. Tone Zone really gives it a beefier tone. Pero if i'd go with Seymour Duncans, it would be the PAF style pickups, or their P Rails and P90s.

mas madami ako gusto itry na seymour duncan pickups kesa Dimarzio. although, it's all preference talaga ng player.
