Short scale bass guitar turned into a 6 string guitar? - ANYONE?

Hey guys, im just wondering..has anyone tried this before? Converting a short scale bass guitar into a standard 6 string guitar? I saw an Ibanez 6 string bass and really love the design/shape... and they dont have thatshape/design  in the guitar section.

So, im thinking of buying that bass and probably have it converted by a luthier somewhere..... IF.... that is possible.

Any inputs would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

How short is it? yung pinaka short na nakita ko is 32" or 33" for bass and for the longest sa guitar would be 28.625", also the spacing between strings, men ang laki nun! hehehe

LOL, kung 32-inch scale yan....kahit naka Drop-A tuning ka sobrang higpit pa rin yung string tension niyan    ....

Lower than drop-A is only suited for Porn-Grind type of Metal  Unless yun ang tinutugtog mo

Thanks for the input guys. Yung nakita kong bass na bago ng Ibanez na 6 strings actually the string spacings are almost identical na sa baritone guitar ko (PRS MM).

Ill check out the model and get more info when i visit that music store again. Thanks

Yes its an IBANEZ SRC6,,, my review... Great and plays fast, tuned to a standard guitar E,A,D,G,B,E but tuned 1 octave down. Pickups are passive but the pre-amp or equ are battery powered. If you play finger style or slap a little adjustment on hitting the strings.

Overall, love the tone and can be played as regular guitar...

So my question is, pwede ba gawing regular guitar yun?  Or if palitan mo ba ng neck yun ng regular Ibanez RG necks it will work like a regular 6 string guitar?

You can't coz it's a 30in scale. Regular RG neck is at 25.5 scale. You can strung it a regular baritone scale string to make it as a baritone guitar.

Kaya nga...what if palitan mo ng neck? and put an RG neck on it or something  na 25.5 scale.  Im guessing it would work?

At the very most it'll be a baritone or tuned E-e an octave lower like a Fender VI.
