Title: Keyboard dual sound
Post by: TheHunter on October 14, 2007, 11:07:00 PM
I have a Yamaha PSR-GX76 and doesn't have the dual sound feature. Is there a way to get a dual sound using software through MIDI connection. I read reviews that they use MIDI cable connecting midi out to midi in and briefly disconnecting one end and then change the channel. I don't know how this work. I know lots of people gurus in MIDI sequencing here and I'm idiot on this and just want to have dual sound on my keyboard. Thanks!

From what I've read, the GX76 has a dual mode but it doesn't work as expected. Here's what I found about dual mode:

"...negatives are: (a) you can not make the keyboard sound dual voices [BUT I can now 'cheat' this by connecting midi out to midi in - if u briefly disconnect at one end and change channel, keybd thereafter sounds both voices]; (b) split keybd only works wioth preset instruments; (c) as far as I knwo u cannot select individual midid channels."

It should work well in split mode based on what I've read so far.
