no canon love? ehehehehe... just kidding... invest in a good body... and inspiration. sounds corny but it's true. get a reliable camera... go out... shoot... and get inspired. i get by with my kit lens for travel and photojourn stuff... but if you plan to shoot portraits, a good prime lens (50mm or 85mm) would do wonders
isa sa mga paborito kong nakunan na litrato that i shot in boracay was taken using a point and shoot digital camera only (a powershot G3) the details are here http://www.flickr.com/photos/roger_alcantara/100298354/meta/ , and i got by using that for like a year, enough time for me to save up to upgrade (magaan pa, so solb ehehehe, medyo mahirap lang pag sports na ang coverage. ehehehe). but that year was important to me, because i learned a lot from experience and inspiration.
Sir thanks for the advice. Pwede rin po ako sa Canon. Right now, i'm not very particular sa brand, pag bibili nako I'll try both cameras para makita ko kung saan ako comfortable hehe. I know both brands are very good. BTW sir, ganda nga ng kuha nyo, di ba na copy-paste sa photoshop yung boat? hehe just kidding. Ganda ng timing nyo sir, hmmm or baka binayaran nyo yung 2 boat na pumuwesto dun para kunan nyo? jk hehehe. seriously, this is a great shot, rare din mangyari 'to i'm sure.

Nasa option list ko po yung combination na yan, a d80 and 18-200mm nikon VR. Thanks!

I agree, napansin ko nga na mejo mas mahal sa mall, although i'm not sure kung pareho lang pagdating sa service (warranty, replacement etc...) . Thanks din po.
