Author Topic: Zildjian cymbals' serial numbers (Read 12581 times)

Gusto mo ba malaman kung kelan ginawa Zildjian mo? Refer to it's Serial number and look for the first 2 digits which are Letters.

For example:
IE = 95, or 1995 sha ginawa.

A=1
B=2
C=3
D=4
E=5
F=6
G=7
H=8
I=9
etc. etc. etc.

I=9, E=5, thus, 95.

JJ = 00 or 2000

Sana nakatulong para maidentify ang mga Zildjians naten kung kelan ginawa! Asteeg!!!!!

Yung serial number ng zildjian indicates kung kelan ginawa cymbal mo, ngayon kahit 1995 ginawa yan pero coming from the authorized retailer which is JB Music eh brandnew yun.

Diba cymbals are aged muna in their vault bago ibenta? So most likely matagal na ginawa cymbals mo bago makarating syu. La lang....

How come yung nabili ko nung 2004 na K 2004 din yun manufacturing date code

nag aage paba ang zildjian? parang nabasa ko puro sila back orders sa dami ng orders nila,baka nag age sa tindahan hehe. parang ung mga k sa jb,ngaun lang ata dumating ung mga bagong vesion ung malaki na sulat.

Not really... With the advancement in the technology of the Zildjian Manufacturing Process, they don't need to be aged before shipping. I have a couple of JG cymbals that came straight from the factory. And they sound sweet! The cymbals in the vault are in it just for storage.

Pwera biro Din halos mamatay ako sa inggit nung nakita ko yung Zildjian factory pics mo! Onga pala sir Jec introduced me to Kim Pang last week. Para tuloy gusto kong mamalimos ng Zildjian sa kanya!! Hahaha!!!

Anyway, going back to topic... I just checked my K Custom cymbals.

My 17" and 18" K Custom Dark Crashes were made in 2003 and 2002, respectively. My 20" K Custom Medium Ride was made in 1997. My 14" K Custom Dark Hats... The top cymbal was made in 1998 and the bottom in 1997.

Natuwa rin ako. Some of my Zildjians are already a decade old. Nice! A lot of cymbals are like fine wine. They sound better as they age.

my thin crash was made in 1995. wow. 12 years old. mas matanda pa sa anak ko! *hugs cymbal, i didn't know you were that old*

my other 20" zildjian cymbal does not have a serial number. hmmm. it has the logo and inscription and it says made in usa but no serial number. what gives?

This "ageing like fine wine" are limited to K cymbals, right? What about A cymbals?

Do the value of these cymbals change according to their age?
