Title: High Powered Little Solid State Beasts
Post by: guitaricci on July 31, 2017, 09:04:48 PM
In response to "What if I buy an Amp Head" thread  :-D

ZT Lunchbox - 200 watts max
Quilter  - 200 watts max
Seymour Duncan Powerstage - 700 watts max
Crate Power block (discontinued) - 150 watts max
BluGuitar (maybe a hybrid tube/ss?) - 100 watts max

..and to a certain degree
Vox MV50 - 50 watts max
EHX Magnum 44 - 44 watts max
Positive Grid Bias Mini Head - 300 watts max

Amps that can somehow fit your pedalboard (except the ZT and Bias Mini) and are very pedal friendly...at least according to youtube videos.

Tingin nyo dito sa mga products na ito?

I had experienced the ZT Lunchbox plugged with a HD500 and sounds good to my ears for gigging purposes. Mabigat buhatin pero space saver naman.

Curious though if yung wattage ratings ng powerstage are RMS or peak ratings

I'm keeping an eye out for the Vox MV50 amp. I've been pleasantly happy with Vox's offerings each year. They're the only big-name brand that seem to consistently come up with exciting and non-crap products (low to high end) each year, in my opinion.

With the right settings, yes.

Go for a Quilter. I would have said ZT but they don't make those ZT Club 1x12s anymore. That was the be(a)st

I think I saw a pic of Franco touring with two if those ZT 112s. Epic. Pwede pa mag toast ng bread sa likod har har

I think they used two per guitarist. I think they are loud enough to cut through their rhythm section but the sound lacks body, in my opinion. I don't know if its their settings or maybe those ZT's just can't produce enough low mids. If I could suggest them something, I'd suggest the laney LX65r

Magnum 44, Vox MV50 AC and Seymour Duncan Powerstage 170 shootout with the Victory V40

Im really impressed with the Kingsley Constable + Powerstage. Mahal lang yung Kingsley ($375). Now im intrigued at plugging those Mooer Micro Preamps into the Powerstage. Happy days perhaps? Haha

Interestingly sa comments section nung video....everyone's requesting for a Quilter demo.
