does sir Mike also make Gibson copies?

I'm interested to have a single-humbucker only Explorer-shaped guitar.

You know... to get my James Hetfield on. lol

Yes, I've seen a couple at his shop.

it's really best to give him a call to get a better idea of what they can do and provide.  :)

Hey, what's that tiny red dot? Is that a switch indicator or something? thanks

Can someone here explain the tone of pine wood? Is it heavy or prone to neck dives?

Will a DiMarzio Tone Zone sound good in it? :)

Micsis told me before in an email response that pine has nicer upper mids than alder, and a really tight low end. Lightweight too. I haven't gotten the chance to play one of his pinecasters yet, so I can't really verify if this is true or not.

I started a custom body project for my Chapman ML-1 with sir Mike and his team last April 29. Unfortunately, it got sidetracked for a while since his chief wood worker got sick.

Now that they're back in full force, sir Mike sent me some pics of the planks that I can choose from for the bookmatched ash top (with pine back). I went with the one on the right for the really awesome grain pattern. Can't wait for the finished product! :)

Sure thing. It's a replacement body, because I'm not really a fan of the heavy mahogany body and weird stock wiring. Just swapping out the top would be a much more complicated procedure than just building a new body from scratch.

Specs include pine back and ash top (trans blue finish), with routing for a 5-way switching system (HSS pickups) and Hipshot 2-point tremolo. :)

Ooh ok! been thinking if I'll commission his team to install a flamed maple top or a veneer on my guitar. Though I'm not really sure if they install top/veneer on already finished guitars. I asked around, at oo wala ngang tumatanggap sa project ko.

New update from Micsis!

Routing, finishing, and final setup left to go on my Chapman ML-1 replacement body. Super impressed with the wood selection and quality of work of the Micsis team.

Uncontoured/unrouted body tips the scale at a lightweight 4.8 lbs. I am okay with this. :-D
