Given a tight budget...
No. of mics:2 mic setup: Kick & overhead
3 mic setup: Kick, snare, & overhead
4 or more mic setup: Kick, snare, one for each tom, 1 or more overhead, 1 or more room mics.
(Depende na kung ano kailangan mo, or kung magkano ang budget)
Kind of mics: Samson, Nady, or CAD drum mic sets are cheap at 5k to 15k (second-hand). If generic mics are your budget, get dynamic mics, which are about 500 each.
Where to buy... Samson, sa Audiophile. I'm not sure about the others. Call Lazer, JB, Music Source, and Lyric, to ask.
Mixer/audio interface:Get an audio interface, which most often already have mixer functions that you need (e.g., gain knob).
Firewire is preferred, pero since tight budget ka, USB na lang.
- 2 mic audio interface: M-Audio Fast Track Pro is new at 14k, second hand for as low as 7k.
- 3-8 mic audio interface: maraming options, but to give you a short list:
(1) 2nd hand MOTU or Presonus interfaces sometimes show up in the classifieds. Say, 10-15k
(3) Alesis MultiMix 8 USB. Second hand for less than 10k.
(2) get an M-Audio Fast Track pro and a cheap mixer (costs about 5k new for 4-channels sa Raon stores). You will record more than 2 mics, pero you will only be able to edit 2. So, you should test the levels and mic placement before you record.
Computer:Basta may USB port or Firewire port. Match your audio interface with what computer you already have.
I hope this can help you start. Marami ring available articles and forums in the net, basta matiyaga ka lang maghanap at magbasa.
