Zildjian's new Z3 Cymbals

The Cymbals

Ground shaking Rock cymbals are nothing new to Zildjian. In 1985, we led the way with the legendary Z line. By 1993, Z Custom was found on the kits of Rock drummers around the world. Now comes the third phase of the Z legacy with the most musical Rock cymbals ever crafted, Z3. Over 25 hot new models destined to rock your world.

Are you ready?

Z3_cymbals

Z3 HiHats
Go on. They won't bite...hard.
The Z3 Hihats have a warmth, aggression and clarity like none other. More volume potential with faster response is provided by larger tonal grooves and symmetrical hammering. The Z3 Mastersound Hats offer a clear and defined "chick." All are offered with a medium top and a heavy bottom.

Z3 Crashes
Your singer will have to sing louder.
20mcrashPowerfully explosive with maximum power potential, the Z3 Crashes sound like no other before them. With Medium and Rock crashes spanning from 16" to 20" and a 12" Splash with an oversized bell, you're bound to find the crash you've always dreamed of.

16" Z3 Medium Crash (M) 16" Z3 Rock Crash (H)
17" Z3 Medium Crash (M) 17" Z3 Rock Crash (H)
18" Z3 Medium Crash (M) 18" Z3 Rock Crash (H)
19" Z3 Medium Crash (M) 19" Z3 Rock Crash (H)
20" Z3 Medium Crash (M) 12" Z3 Splash (T)

Z3 Rides
Play hard. Play loud.
Larger bell designs help to project your sound to the crowd, especially the ones in the nosebleeds. We've increased the bell sizes (including the new 21" Z3 Mega Bell Ride) so you'll have no problem cutting through even the loudest of amps. There are a ton of Z3 Rides to choose from, make sure to lay into 'em. They can take it.

20" Z3 Medium-Heavy Ride (MH)
22" Z3 Medium-Heavy Ride (MH)
20" Z3 Rock Ride (H)
22" Z3 Rock Ride (H)
21" Z3 Mega Bell Ride (EH)

20chinaZ3 Effects
Super-loud effects.
The Z3 Effects come in the form of an 18" and 20" China. But, don't be fooled - these aren't your typical China's. If you haven't already won the crowd over with your solo, these bad boys will surely do the trick. Basically, they are what you would expect from any China, times 1,000.

20" Z3 China (EH)

mukha silang B20 bronze, with ZHT/ZXT hammering and wide-groove lathing. how these can be any better than Z Customs, di ko alam.

it's probably just Zildjian repackaging something (Z Customs), and hoping to sell it off to impressionable kids (except, being B20, these are for rich kids). they gave roughly the same treatment to ZXT (with the Titanium series) and ZHT (with Pitch Black). both FAILED. and somehow Zildjian still can't figure it out.

they'd be better off bringing back the old Z's (pre-"Custom"), which actually had a following.

2:45 - "there's nothing new... uhm... er... (oh-pwet-i-fakked-up-face)"

wahahahahahah

they're gonna be priced exactly like Z Customs, unlike APX which actually falls into a mid-level price range while offering pro-level quality (APX's are basically B8-alloy AAs)

Trash Ride bro :-D

Anyway.
PLAYABILITY daw kasi they don't want the drummers to feel like they're hitting a MANHOLE COVER kaya they formulated a ROCKcymbal with flexibility!!

Anyway.
PLAYABILITY daw kasi they don't want the drummers to feel like they're hitting a MANHOLE COVER kaya they formulated a ROCKcymbal with flexibility!!

so they say. it still could be as stiff as always. and if you want a playable rock cymbal, there are lots of better options out there that sound MUCH better. they still sound nowhere near as good as A, A Custom, AA, AAX, AA Metal-X, etc, etc, etc... so who cares how playable they are?

bottom line nito is that the unique models, ie trash ride and mega bell ride, will sell, mostly because they ARE unique in the Zildjian range. the rest, well, they're just pretty much the same as always. so these will end up just like Z Customs* - a couple of interesting models but mostly bleh as a whole - except these don't even have a Dynobeat equivalent (and Dyno's always sell because of the cross-matching possibilities they generate).

* maybe because they ARE Z Customs, just with different looks? haha

Sana labas na siya sa Tom Lee by July. I'm only keen on the 18" China.  :-) I hope the description proves to be accurate. We shall see.
