Usually you'd know if they say they are.

Mae has never claimed that they are a Christian band, nor do their lyrics specifically identify them as being "Christian"...

Problema kasi sa US is that dominant ang Protestant keysa Catholic. So there is really a big chance na members of a certain band are "Christian" but, are in fact, not living a "Christian" life... though I do not want to be a judge of their actions really... dami na kasi yung mga ganyan eh. Example: Evanescence and Scott Stapp (Creed). We have to be really careful in the music that we listen to...

According to Elkins in a 2003 interview, while the band members are Christians, Mae is not a "Christian band".

So IMO the best way to know if a band is Christian or not is for you to check their lyrics (if it is congruent with Scripture) and if they claim so, which of course translates to their actions (on and off the stage).

Yes, I agree with tackielarla! Marami na kasi ngayon na naglalabasan na ganyan eh, Christian sila pero they do not play Christian songs. Hmmm, I think strategy din ata nila yan para maka-attract ng mas malaking audience, pero minsan naiisip ko na nacocompromise na faith nila, I still like Relient K kahit na nagmainstream na sila they "STILL" are a Christian band, sadly, Switchfoot eh.. wala lang.. Parang more on positive songs nalang ata ang mga messages ng songs nila ngayon. I still like the old Switchfoot though.

Yeah... it is sad. Kaya nga it is said in Matt. 7:21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."

Back to the topic, it's not our job to judge everyone else, but be extra careful nalang specially in the music and lyrics of these supposed Christian bands.

well..me point din si bam....pero syempre...not all artists that make songs na di bastos, p0sitive and matino..ay christian..like ive said..me artists na christian sila...but not the band or the whole band...

and sa kabila naman..di lahat na seemingly christian ay christian..kc me mga songs na tamang me praise to God and words like "hallelujah"..(like bamboo's..)..u just gona have to make an extra effort to research about the band kung gusto mo tlgang malaman...sa case ng song ng paramore na "hallelujah" din...theyre christians naman...but not a christian band..so cguro..in a way..they want to atract both audience(secular and christian)...kc sa states..and the world...ang laki na ng christian comunity..so on a marketing point...sayang yung sales diba? so beter get the best out of both...like switchfoot...gumigitna lng sila lagi....

me mga cases din like Bono of U2..na sumtimes..he makes his songs subliminally christian...meron din syang songs na seemingly u wud think- "bat ganito? anu ba tlga to?"...well..u just gona hav to take what he says na christian sya..but he admits na di sya tlga upfront like the others..he drinks. swears, smokes etc...and we cannot be the judge of that...diba?

and bout puddle of mudd..i think theyre not christians ...

anyway..commercial lng po uli...a filipino christian rock band...sana take time in checkin it out...

Never really liked their songs that much anyways.

kahit pa sabihin nating ang genre ng songs ay inspirational o pang worship ang flow ng melody pero bad words naman ang lyrics.....hmmmm!

yes..kc po christian sya...there came a point in the bands existence na almost nag disband na sila e...di kc sangayon yung 2 s knila..(yung bassist and drummer..)..pag nahanap ko yung link uli, post ko dito para maliwanagan kyo..

hm.. tama, usually sinasabi nila.. ewan ko ba kung bat dinedeny ng iba eh. buti nga yung POD eh inamin na rin nila.

may nakikinig ba dito sa Demon Hunter and the likes? di ba may mga cuss words yung ibang mga kanta (although di pa ako nakakarinig kasi di ko pa napapakinggan lahat) nila?

i don't think may cuss words sa lyrics ng demon hunter. nakikinig ako non.. astig... mejo dark lang yung artwork kaya madaming christians ang nata-turn off pero ok naman sila. try mo din as i lay dying, galing nung mga un.
