About the meshuggah, polyrythmic patters...

medyo hirap ako ipaliwanag pero try ko hehe.
if anyone here listens to bands like meshuggah mas maiintindihan nyo siguro.
yung approach ko on polyrythyms kasi is more on a guitarist perspective. kasi yung polyrythms ng meshuggah is much more guitar oriented kumpara sa drums, at least for me, and mas madali mahuka yung polyrythyms kung kabisabo mo yung bawat kalabit ng gitara. sa band ko ganun din ang approach ko, what's funny is i dont even know those complicated time signatures but i can play those just by listening to the guitar patterns. siguro advantage yung matagal din ako nag aral ng guitar. mas madali sana ipaliwanag kung may drumkit tayo dito hehe. but i do try to count din pag salisi na yung palo. most of the time 4/4 lang ang time signature ng meshuggah. kaya lang nakakalito is siguro mas naka focus kayo sa bilang ng drums which is for me hindi naman talaga dapat masyadong bilangin. kung papansinin nyo yung rythym ng hats ni thomas haake, 4/4 lang madalas then yung kick and snare nya sumusunod sa gitara then at some point nagkakaroon ng displacement sa pattern dahil usually odd signatures yung mga riffs ng guitars nila kaya umiikot yung kick and snare nya but the hats remain at 4/4. importante din pala yung independence if you want to get into polyrythms. sana nakatulong ako pero mukang hindi e hahaha!  :-D

Well, guitars of Meshuggah are really heavy and polybeats but its more manageable than the drums.
With a guitar anyone can play together with Frederik and Hagstrom, tpos if kick drum lang kaya sabayan.
Kaso the hats stay 4/4 with snare kya challenging.Dats y i like Haake's chops so much, its an art!

Actually, i have been used to speedy beats like Jordison and Bittner or Adler. Its cool, when you play fast, you seem good, thats wat i tot b4. Pero wen i descovered polys, i f*ckd up with my mind. No offense with fast beaters, its all good, pero polys bring me to a level dats so amazing, i look at drumming as an art now.

I mostly play polys, its fun and very challenging. I hope more bands can get into the polys and math metal!

Right now, im trippin' with Tool's latest album.

Meshuggah and Tool are pals and Im glad that Tool incorporated polys in their new release.

Try to trip Jambi or Vicarious. All Hail Danny Carey!

I dont consider Chris Adler as a fast drummer. His fills are kinda fast though. But in terms of his footwork, VERY CREATIVE!! He definitely stands out among metal drummers.
