BAKA LANG MAKATULONG KAYO (PC problem)
« on: November 25, 2007, 06:44:23 PM »

walang beeping sound bro... i tried to disconnect the RAM(2 pcs) then turned on the PC, walang beeping sound at di nagboot.

Hmmm... unusual procedure there. AFAIK, you don't have to turn on the pc while the bios reset is shorted. You just leave it there for around a minute then return the jumper to normal. This should put all bios parameters to default.

Turn on the pc then go directly into bios to set it. Probably the boot sequence has been changed that's why your pc is not booting up properly... how many hard drives in your system? See if bios is set to boot up from floppy, cdrom or the network as the primary boot device.

ground battery>go to BIOS upon bootup, change system date/time, check boot sequence, it would be better if you put the HD on first, CDROM on second, disable the rest. check drives if theyre being detected.

try to boot again, if same blinking power..

teeardown the computer, disconnect all the connections on the back, remove cards. check again LED on the power button.. let us know..  :-D

gumagana naman may power naman lahat

Ganito... kung may access ka sa spare parts, try replacing the ram first. Sabi mo ayaw mag-POST di ba? In most cases, ram is the cause kapag ayaw mag-POST when previously, gumagana naman ang computer. Try replacing the ram or if you use multiple sticks, try one stick at a time muna; one of them can be defective.

Kung ayaw pa rin, try to replace the video card with a spare if you have one available. Try hunk0429's suggestion in pulling out every card except the video card. If you use onboard video and you don't have any display, suspect a video chip problem and use a video card instead - I've seen onboard video fail more than once.

Kung ayaw pa rin, it's time to suspect the power supply. Pull out all connections and inspect them, then re-install making sure that all connections are firm. I've seen some PSU's that supposedly still work but cannot POST a mobo - it's possible na kulang ang current capacity for the mobo (especialy when you add a new peripheral) or one of the rails has failed. One of the most common advice when dealing with anything that uses electricity: "follow the power".

Lastly, check your fans, especially the cpu fan. Some systems won't startup if it detects that the cpu fan isn't turning. I've rarely seen a cpu fail except during mishandling when re-installing a heatsink or during electrical/lightning discharge.

im not sure if were referring to the same battery. look on the motherboard, theres a round battery there. tanggalin mo, tpos ground mo. pano mu igground? may 2 metal prong sa ilalim nung battery, tpos may metal latch sa side(eto ung nipress mu pra matanggal ung battery), ground mu ung dalawa. reset jumper, might help as well. reseat P1/P2 on the motherboard.

now, if ur saying that the harddrive and monitor is working on a different computer, theres a BIG possibility the its the motherboard.

im thinking that the built-in video card is busted, thats why you have a blinking(orrange, i suppose?) power on the monitor whenever you turn the computer on.
hows the status of the HDD, does it have any light upon bootup? and, do u hear the windows logon on yer speakers. y did i ask? this is one way of isolating the problem. since u dont see anything on the screen, IF the HDD is working fine, you should hear the windows logon sound, right?

pag wala, your MOBO is not detecting the HDD. try mo ibang SATA port sa MOBO, sna lng SATA. hehehe! pag ganito uli, malamang MOBO.

2 reasons:
no video on the monitor - monitor is using the builtin video card
HDD not detected

try mu uli toh, it might do the trick.  :-)

(pwede bang sata to ide sir?)

there are times na grounding the battery might solve the problem when it comes to "no video(builtin video card)" or "HDD not detected" and issue mo.

IDE gamit mo? try mo ibang IDE cable..

clarification:
