If you are torn between change of pick-up or noisegate.
- go for the change of pick-up if wala kang balak magdagdag ng pedals
- go for noisegate if you intend in future to add compressor, overdrive, etc.

me, la na noise gate noise gate,, lam na natin yan pag stock single pups maingay tlaga,,, lalo't puro high gain mgs sapatos mo,,,,... taymingan mo lang, pag pause ng tugtugan, tapakan mo din dist/od mo...dagdag skill pa yun satin... pag sa recording naman, bah, bahala na si batman..

if :

HUMBUCKER
-great for chug. fat, sustain, and gain.
-this would make your tone totally different compared to single coil
-no hum but not a guarantee that it wouldn't be noisy
-well, you could use fast track single coils but pricey
-on tone exploration, you might change pickups until you get "YOUR" tone.

NOISE GATE
-would totally cut the 60 cycle hum of your single coil
-probably affect the sustain but it would depend on the settings applied or the chain
-it could be useful on your rig if you're planning to add more pedals
-price can be flexible. (ranging from 1.5k-3k more or less)


some says high gain, go for humbuckers. but what if tom morello yung influence diba?

i go for noise gate based on experiences
practical and also, it would go for the long run.

noisegate sir! sama mo lang sa board mo tapos na ang problema mo, of course kelangan mo hanapin ang right settings para sa rig mo.
