audophile offered the kit plus meinl hcs cymbals at around 35K pesos late last year...di ko lang alam kung available pa yung package this year and at what price...audiophile is your best source, i would say, pag tama ang pinag-uusapan. if i'm not mistaken parang may natanaw akong imperialstar na naka box pa sa robinson's pioneer branch nila...offhand kaya na ang silverstars na wrap finish at around the same price ngayon less the cymbals...

nagreply sakin sa facebook ang audiophile, next year pa daw sila magkakastock para sa imperialstar. I'm not sure about the package ur talking about, kasi as far as I know, meinl cymbals lyric ang nagddistribute eh.

should I go for imperialstar (pag nagkastock na) or silverstar? super laki ba ng difference when it comes to the sound and hardware?

Yes lyric carries meinl, but hcs was part of the imperialstar package that tama offered...imperialstar uses poplar while silverstars have birch shells. Sa hardware, stagestar ang imperialstar while roadpro ang silverstar...while both are sturdy, mas lamang ang roadpro. Naka starcast mount na din ang silverstar...so for a few more bucks you may go for the silverstar...

Finally, dumating na. I still haven't finished setting her up. Walang oras, boo!

my Starclassic Bubingas in Volcanic Red Burst (doesn't look red to me, though)
Nakabalot pa rin yung snare hanggang ngayon. :P

A closer look at the finish:

Don't mind the Mapex snare and the Cat maples at the back.  :x

Sa weekend tapos ko na i set-up 'to para papaputukin na sa bagong taon. :-D

Thanks to the folks in Audiophile, Manila!

Salamat mga ser! I also had the Pearl MCX as one of my top choices but after talking to sir barabbas about these bubingas and then later on seeing this finish, I just HAD to get them WITH the snare.

Mahigit isang oras din ang tinagal ko dun sa Audiophile dahil nahirapan din ako mamili between these Bubingas and the Performer B/B. Panalo rin kasi ung Portnoy-ish finish nung Performers (Black Clouds and Silver Linings), plus may kasama nang snare. I was also intrigued by the short stack toms of the Performers, but in the end I believe I made the right choice.  :)

sir these heads are not meant for soft playing... the evans head and birch shell combination sounds ordinary pag mahina pero as you hit it harder yun na! tight, focused whoomp with the right amount of attack and sustain...having used remo clear emperors before, the evans are less warm and bright but in a good way...i think the rings and the coating have something to do with it; and floor tom muna sir bago bass  :-P

as for the genera dry head, para kang pumapalo ng makapal na libro?!, very controlled o halos wala overtone, you have to hit it near the edge to get it ringing... ok na rin...sorry OT na.
