who sits high?

some time, when my drum throne broke I had to use a chair in church. and i had to put two together because one was just too low for me.

after a week, I got accustomed to it. it kinda helped me because back then I was exclusively playing the bass pedal with my heel up.

but...that just lasted for 3 weeks, after my throne got replaced..I went back to my old height adjustment.

Me too. My seat is a bit high that my upper legs are slightly pointing downward.

i sit high as well, like bammbamm's description of his throne height. i tried it just to see if it can alleviate the problem of my upper legs getting sore, and it did.

i do sit high din.. kaso yoko nung upuan n ginamit ni toybits.. gusto ko pag alang throne na available gusto ko stool.. yoko ng may sandalan.. lumulubog kasi aku eh.. hehehe...

For me I sit at a height just good enough that my thigh is parallel to the ground... for me this is also advantageous with the playing of my arms as well... If I adjust all the drums low enough that I don't need to raise may arms to hit them.. then I won't use too much energy while drumming right? for me that's the most comfortable situation... thighs parallel to the gound and less raising of arms. I remember in one of the mini EB's, sir Otep said "basta compurtable ka, kahit ano pede mong gawin!"

Ako pang warm-up ko sa double pedal parallel yung thigh ko sa ground (5-10 mins)... Then pag "warmed up" na, tataasan ko yung throne, ang laki ng igagaang at ibibilis ng hita ko. Self-experiment ko lang yun... Alam ko hindi na dapat pabago bago pa ng height ng upuan, pero why not? Kung effective edi gawin...

atleast my legs are in a edit: 90 up degree angle...

Just slightly high from having your thighs parallel to the ground when my heels are down on the pedal.  At this position my thighs are pointing a bit downward.  When I raise my heels up, it become parallel to the ground.

I prefer sitting high too, with my thighs angled up a bit, just like those who previously posted.  It works better for me, and it gives me more balance and control of the whole drumkit.

i dont know how to describe it... i just make sure that my legs are of 90 degrees angle... for flatfoot playing and ankle playing for fast d-peds...

I used to sit high with my knees bent in an obtuse angle. Pero bars usually have low non-adjustable thrones (or chairs) and tinatamad ako dalhin yung throne ko. So I sit with my knees bent pretty much in 90 degrees now. Medyo napilitan, in a way.

ako din medyo high kasi gusto ko i emulate yung stance ng mga blackk drummers sobra sila nakaangat para mapraktis ko yung lagi nakababa yung kamay ko pareho ni Tony williams and chambers. mas relax kasi ang shoulders pag ganito

i sit high.. i just make sure that my thighs and legs don't sit too much on the throne. gusto ko yung thighs ko wala na sa pwetan ng throne.. at tsaka sa feet ko naman, enough para maka 90 degrees din..

me! i sit high because i stand high im tall so i use a HIGH chair. my legs are long,, dont really need to stress the point. hahaha but i tried the low chair somehow ,,,its ok for me:)

tingin ko i sit at a normal height. or at least 20-22" yung height ng drum throne ko. i know this kasi i have a 22" bassdrum and most bars have 22" bassdrums, dun ko binabase yung height ng seat ko.

I sit high to avoid accidental rim shots when im hitting the snare drum.

I finally found what's best height for me. Parallel lang talaga yung thighs ko sa ground. Not higher/lower.
And I think I'm developing more thigh muscles which is important for producing very solid strokes because I'm being forced to use thigh muscle when sitting at a normal height.
Compared to high sitters, I guess ankle/front leg muscles are more focused to develop.
At tska mahiyain ako, ayoko ng kitang kita ako sa kit ko.

mga ser gano kayo kataas o kababa umupo sa mga thrones nyo?
Gusto ko mejo mataas para madominate ko yung drums at madaling maabot mga cymbals. and feeling ko mas madaling mgdouble stroke sa single peds dahil yung ankle lang ang gumagalaw.
