« on: June 23, 2006, 06:40:50 PM »
ewan ko lang kung may topic nang ganito dito.. post nyo lang yung routing ng effects chain ninyo! pwedeng text-based lang, pwedeng may diagram, etc. share tayo ng mga setups para may new ideas tayong makuha about pedal sequences, etc. especially from the pedal gurus (and geeks). madami kasing mga newer forumites dito na laging nagtatanong ng mga questions e, so magandang ma-browse na lang nila tong thread na to for them to use as reference :)

una na ako!

Pedalboard 1 (my trimmed-down board!):
Guitar >> Rocktron Banshee (optional, bihira gamitin) >> BOSS NS-2 >> Dunlop 535Q wah >> Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster >> Peavey JSX Head

from amp effects loop:
(Send) MXR EVH Phase 90 >> MXR Flanger >> DigiTech XMC Chorus >> DigiTech XDD Digital Delay (Return)

Pedalboard 2: diagram na lang! post ko mamaya :)

pwede mong gawing:
Bad Monkey >> DS-1 >> GNX4 (for modulations + light delay) >> DD-3. na-try ko na yang cascaded delay pedals, perfect yan for ambient rhythm guitar (e.g. U2, Sigur Ros, etc.). yung EQ ilagay mo either before the Bad Monkey or after the DS-1, depende sa taste mo :)

Sali ako :)

when i use my board its usually
pedals only
Tuner ---> Compressor ----> wah---->dist1 ---> (usually tube screamer) ----> chorus----> delay----> clean boost ------->amp

When amp i use teh same but stick the amp in the dist 1/tubescreamer area and run the rest thru the loop.... if i feel like bringing extra gear i put a volume pedal before everything.

Fav setup is still guitar ----> amp

I'll join in. I use pedals all the time and my basic setup normally goes like this:

Guitar->Wah->Compression/Sustain->OverDrive/Distortion->Modulation->Delay/Echo->Volume->Amp

So with the above in mind, this is what I have at the moment:

Guitar->George Dennis Wah-Switch Plus->GoudieFX Compressor->Tonebone Classic->HBE Power Screamer->Danelectro Cool Cat->Boss DD-3->Ernie Ball Volume Pedal->Amp

Direct: Compressor > Wah > Distortion > Amp

FX Loop: Volume Pedal > Chorus (Output B to Tuner) > Digital Delay > BBE Sonic Stomp

chito why compressor after wah?

At the moment, it is just a matter of convenience to put it after the Wah pedal on my board. I didn't want to have the wah right in the middle of  board and just wanted to have the small size effects together. And since I don't normally have the compressor going when I am using the Wah, I figured it wouldn't matter having the compressor after it.

But normally, it is advisable to have the compression pedal before anything else.

Sorry for the OT.

I've had it for about a month or so and I have been able to A/B it with a Keeley DS-1 Ultra, Tonebone Classic, BD-2, SD-1, DS-1(stock) and here's my opinion about the OCD:

1. It's very quiet for an Overdrive/Distortion pedal
2. It's as close to a rich and warm "tube" sound than any other SS pedal I've used
3. Pick attack is really good, better than the Keeley modded DS-1 but not as good as the Tonebone Classic or plugging directly to an overdriven tube amp
4. Very versatile too, it can go from a smooth light overdrive to heavy chunky rhythm without the mud or harshness.

BTW, I have only used it with my amps both are tubes and I have not used it in a gig yet. At the moment, I use it as my mild medium gain pedal.

If I have to get rid of all my OD/Dist pedals, it would be a toss up between the Tonebone and the OCD.

this routing took me months to figure out and i'm glad all my hard work and sleepless nights paid off! hehe...it's unlike most setups because it splits my signal throughout the chain and recombines them to be used in only 1 amp! so here it goes...

Ibanez S1220WNF---->Dunlop Crybaby Classic---->Maxon CP101---->Boss TU-2---->

tu output 1----> rc booster ---->arion chorus----> sida A of AB1
tu output 2----> splitter

splitter 1--->tubeworks tube driver--->side A of AB2
splitter 2--->jt pedal's valveboy--->side B of AB2

output of AB2 --->side B of AB1

AB1--->Boss DD-20--->BBE Sonic Stomp

rimimbur! no kafeeying!!! hehe...you saw it here first! hehehe

question.

i have this in my FX loop:

CH1 >> DD5 >> Danelecto flanger

kung maglalagay ako ng vibrato & tremolo pedal (2 separate pedals) where should i stick em? tamad pako mag-tweak eh.. :)

spunk'd:

there's no RIGHT way to string your pedals together, but there's one suggested way to put them together for the clearest sound, after getting to know what each effect actually does to your tone. (check the internet, o kaya mag-search ka sa older threads) basically gain effects first, time-based & modulation effects after. so it doesn't really matter what type of music you play. use what works for you.

Speaking of no rules on chaining pedals, I saw a post here asking what pedal can he buy to boost a Metal Zone.  :lol:
