sorry, i can't tolerate k-pop, it's too bouncy, gimicky and aggressive. i can withstand the videos coz of the legs... that's about it

i'm referring to the stuff i hear everywhere, i'm sure there are more sophisticated artists.

i love j-pop! love the melodies, i find the "sounds' of the japanese language more digestible to my ears, and the songs and arrangements are catchy and well thought out.

currently listening to the gazette... totally dig 'em (they're more j-rock though)

J-Pop para sakin!  :) Nag-umpisa sa pakikinig ng anime. Atleast for me, parang normal songs sila.

K-Pop. Hindi ko talaga kaya.

Jpop, especially jrock. I'am a huge anime fan, and liked some of their themes.
I don't like most of the kpop music that i hear in the radio. They are catchy, but they are also repetitive.

Wala.

san na napunta yung "music is a universal language"?

medyo hipster ang dating and i know it's just a figure of speech pero lyrics nalang ba basehan kung maappreciate mo yung isang kanta?
yung ibang metal nga di maintindihan talaga lyrics pero trip niyo parin.

on topic:
i like listening to j-rock/j-pop since i grew up watching anime, i like watching, yep not listening, to k-pop. alam na.

Parang mga kanta sa Voltes 5 or other anime shows nung mga kabataan pa natin.

music is the universal language if we are talking about musical scores composed by beethoven, mozart, tchaikovsky, strauss, etc. these are the kind of music that talks to us without the lyrics barrier. now, if we talk about k-pop and j-pop, they are not music per se but songs. songs by definition is 1. musical composition of words and music, 2. poetry and lyricism with the accompaniment of music. now, if i will mention your quote which is "music is a universal language" in connection with k-pop or j-pop...then you missed your mark by a mile.

anyways, if you appreciate j-pop, k-pop lolli-pop or any other pop that is out there, well congratulations.

That is off-topic btw.

THIS.

anyway, BTT:

J-pop/J-rock. Awesome melodies. I even ended-up forming a couple of J-rock cover bands.

As for K-pop:  gaya ng sabi ni psychic_sushi, " i can withstand the videos coz of the legs..."
