+1 for SPX-2000 especially REV X program, but I still prefer my old Lexicon PCM-80 over my SPX-2000.  :-)

Go digital!!! Use VST effects. Cubase or Logic loaded with different VST effects (with the right gears such as Audio Interface Cards (firewire), USB Mixers,etc) can provide you with unlimited sound possibility with out the rack spaces and expensive equipments. :-D Newer studios in the states use this kind of setup.
