Bass Drum Woofer

Ever tried putting a floor tom or another kick drum in front of a kick drum so you get a a huge sound?

hmmm...is it just me, but I can hear that woofer effect on the Bozzio/Sheehan album.

well got to try it and it was a biyatch 

you really need to take the time to tune both drums to get a sonorous sound if not, it sucks

siguro kasi masyado malalim yung 22x16 to be a woofer. tinggal ko rin yung muffling nung 22" kasi di pansin yung effect kung muffled

First time ko 'to nakita sa mga DW kits na gamit nla Bozzio at Royster, Jr. May significance ba talaga 'to sa sound ng bass drum or just pampa-ganda lang ng hitsura? Enlighten me guys!

tuned properly, nakakadagdag sya sa low end via symphathetic buzzing (parang sa guitar, magvivibrate yung next string kung magkatono dun sa na pluck mo). nababawasan kasi yung parang subwoofer oomph kapag loose tuning yung ginawa mo sa bass drum, lalo na kung gusto mo marinig yung click sound sa head. kaya para magkaron ng body yung bass drum, dagdag ka ng extra baffle e.g. bass drum woofer

it doesnt add volume, it adds more lower frequencies to give you a fuller sound

watch late night with jimmy fallon, you'll see ?uestlove's (the roots) yamaha kit is equipped with a bass drum woofer. eventhough the kick drum has a small diameter (which is a 16 incher, i think), you can still hear that deep "oomph" sound
