Decent/Good Les Paul Replica??
« on: September 08, 2010, 09:40:26 PM »
Mga bro & sis, sino ba dito may experience na sa mga LP copy? Pahingi naman advice or reviews sa mga LP copy.

I'm saving up kasi para sa isang LP.

Aside from Greco you can also look at other brands like Tokai and Burny

if you want brand new, check out the MIC Tokai LPs sa Lyric..

or if hindi pa sold, there's an Edwards LP sa classifieds (with Epi pups).. palitan mo nalang yung pickups pagkabili mo if ayaw mo.. Edwards are really well made guitars..  :-)

You might also want to look at Greg Bennett Avion series.  Though not the exact same shape (which actually gives the GB guitar its own character),  the sound is pretty decent for me.

The new Tokai copies at Lyric are pretty good. But I'd keep an eye on an Edwards, Orville, Burny, Yamaha or Greco at the Classifieds if I were you. If you want an Epiphone, make sure you buy from a reputable source.

If you want something cheap, you might get lucky with an RJ. The older ones tend to be better and I think there's one that's for sale in the Classifieds, too.

I recently sold my Japanese made Epiphone.

...it was the closet thing to the Gibson relations. It had all the appointment that a Gibby would have 'cept for the name, of course which is own by Gibson. But this Epi/MIJ had something unique to the replicas? The headstock is totally the same as the Gibsons...Go figure! If you can find one around i'd grab it. For theyre quite rare and keepers. Next on the list would be the Orvilles then the Tokai Love Rock and so forth.

Good Luck with your search.

Peace!!

Yep, though kelangan ng pup replacement, still waiting for dax to answer my calls(baka tulog pa ), punta ako TMS today to install new pups.

BTT
We tried to A/B the edwards with a 50s and 60s gibby, so far medyo kaya naman sumabay, syempre iba pa rin ang tunay na gibby.  :-)

go to prank_sinatra 's place....

+1000

Anyway I got the Yamaha LP (Studio Lord) from him through a trade, panalo ang Yamaha!

Then there are also lots of awesome lawsuit LPs there na pasok na pasok sa budget.

Greco, Yamaha, Tokai, Ibanez, etc..

Yun Yamaha LP ko sounds better than the Gibson LP Studio.

maple top (solid hindi pancaked at chambered)
