Re: Nova Modulator mix levels

Hi all,

I just got a Nova Repeater (sorry that should have read "Modulator") and would like to ask for help on how to adjust mix (wet and dry) levels for Presets and Manual modes.  I can't seem to find such instructions in the manual and am hoping someone could teach me how to before I get frustrated and sell the thing!

Thanks in advance!

^^Could anyone help please?  I would really like to find out how to make the effects more subtle when needed.   :)

Also for other Nova pedal users, especially the Nova Modulator - I'm noticing a volume drop whenever I engage the Chorus.  I learned from research that calibrating gain input level might help.  However, I am a bit confused with the instructions in the manual.  It says I should turn on all boosters and sound-attenuating pedals placed before the NM-1.  However, there was a note at the end of the same page that says I should then play the "loudest" during the calibration process which TCE defined as being clean since it had more dynamics.  I don't get it.  Doesn't that negate the previous instruction of turning on all boosters, ODs and Distortion peds?

Any input, opinion and/or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot!   :-)

Hi guys, maybe you could help a Nova Mod noob here?  After more than 2 decades of playing, this is my first ever multi-effect floor ped and I am having problems completely liking it because of some setting issue I cannot solve.  Here they are:

Hi curiousdcat!! im also a Nova Mod user 1-2 months pa lang got it non calibrated
At first frustated din ako sa manual niya but reading it while playing helps!!!

now for your qa, about calibrating the gain (not sure) when i got the pedal it isnt calibrated on how my gear/pedalboard is set at first it suckd all my tones and not really happy but if you turn to page32 "calibrating input sensitivity" i felt really happy. Press and hold manual button for 5 sec. The iilaw yung 5 green LEDs tapos turn on your ACTUAL GAIN SETTING yung ginagamit mo na highest not meaning TODO lahat ok malaki pagkakaiba nun. Like me i use boosters and ODs and gainy pedals BEFORE my MODULATOR then strum as hard as you can i mean yung lilitaw yung volume at max setting mo. Makikita mo na mawawala yung LED isa isa depende sa current calibration mo. Sakin nawala lahat just so it means the pedal can accomodate the dirts and boost i throw at it at the highest level ng settings ko. And it works just fine.

Before kasi nung hindi pa callibrated trigger happy kumbaga pagbukas ng box saksak kabit gitara hahahaha ayun distorted at high volumes lalu na kung strum.

Ano pa ba? hmmmm basta basahin mo maigi. If the instruction is hard for you to intake wag ka mahiya mag ask sa mga kakilala mo for help.

Wala bang kasamang sticker yung pedal? kasi may kasama siyang parameter sticker na kapag naka set ka ng mode kunyari chorus may equivalent yung knobs naka label per mode. Wait hanap kita sa google.

Haha  Thanks, man!  I hope that solves everything.  The sticker you mentioned is still inside the plastic pouch it came in left unopened since I wasn't sure if I would be keeping the ped.  I guess, it's now time to open it up.  Thanks again!   :)

Sakin kasi dinikit ko sa middle part nung dalawang footswitch hindi ko kasi kabisado at wala akong plan kabisaduhin hahaha kaya anytie i need to blend something nandun na.

Explained nga pala yung per parameter as per mode din kung anu yung effect niya.

About programming preset madali lang din just tweak to taste kapag naka preset mode ka
Then kapag ok ka na hold and press preset button mga 2sec. Magbiblink naman yun.

Yung nga pala sa xallibration mas ok kung i-factory reset mo muna nova mod para fresh soya sa normal callibration. Tsaka mo i callibrate.

@ pie-key

Found the sticker you were talking about.  Apparently, only the tri-chorus has a functional mix knob.

Perhaps, you could just give me tips as to how to make the effect sounds more subtle and less prominent?  I find them too strong for my taste.  I'm trying to make it sound like the effect/s is/are almost inaudible.

Thanks a lot, man!    :)

I'm gassing for a TC Nova System... Analog pala yung drive section nya. Haven't done much reading about it but the demos seem cool. The modulations on this one is awesome.

Looks too bulky though. I wonder what's inside that made it that bulky?
