by the way, dapat kahit papano mejo treated yung place mo, mahirap yan kung hindi. and i-calibrate mo din yung speakers. mahirap makuha yung flat response pag basta basta lang eh, lalo na sa hiphop, hahaha!

1st ... get/construct a acoustically treated room.

then thats where you decide what monitors u will get =)..

with a great sounding room.. u can almost use any monitors .. kahit mga m-audio or KRK..
pag di kasi treated ang room mo.. lolokohin tenga mo lalo na sa Bass/ LOW end. eh importante sa hiphop ang acuurate/ precise na pagbayo ng kick/beats =)

most of the hiphop producers i know prefer m-audio or KRK pala..

mismo ito... :D
kasi kung meron nang money...

you can get a KRK Rokit5... sounds good for pop, R&B & hip-hop songs... sa tingin ko.

assuming that you'll be using it in a studio, monitors should sound accurate (flat response) as possible.  IMHO, no such thing as a genre-specific studio monitor.  flat response is the priority so that you can make good judgement when editing your mix.  if you pick one that is "pang hiphop" (pronounced bass and treble), you wont be able to make good judgement with editing.

first, plan a good room.  then get a monitor that will have flat response in your room.  if you want, get a good pair of flat response headphones (ex. the pro-audio line of Shure) para may baseline ka of what flat response should sound like.

Pang hiphop ? IMHO try the Behringer Truth monitors. Bass heavy kasi yun, just like some of the "DJ" headphones from Sony and Pioneer.
