Pearl Rhythm traveller review

Durability, well, it all depends on one handling the drums as well.

rating it 0 - 10, I'd go for an 8.

Portability:  10

Sound:  7
except for the snare and bass drum, all the rest are one headed which will account for a timbale tone.  I had mine installed with the thickest head to avoid that - Evan Rock/Hydraulic heads.  Marco of Kitchie drilled his toms to accommodate a bottom head, I have yet to hear it.  the bass, kicks ass.  Not boom, but the punch and tone is definitely there.  Good for rock and jazz. IMO

Functionality:
its a lethal weapon on stage riots.  very good camouflage for guards who unknowingly can't see that you can use the pedal to beat people's ankles under the table when they disagree on meetings and dates.  longer range attacks with cymbals.

Price:  17K
this was '02

I hope this helps.  Not to encourage fights but to drum on one.
Tele bought 20K. Upgraded pots.  FS: 30K  Trade Value BS: 85K.  Deal tayo?

Guys - a question: how much does a NEW Pearl Rhythm Traveller go for nowadays, and what is a fair price for a used kit?

Pearl MLX Maple Shell Pack
« Reply #41 on: January 28, 2007, 09:14:45 PM »
May nag o-offer sa akin nitong vintage shell pack na to, 100% maple shell.Kelan ba unang lumabas 'to? May value ba 'to? Is it worth restoring?

Is this worth for 24K?

MLX...  Those are Masters Series drums!  You know Pearl, they use those three-letter codes to nickname their drumkit series.

Old Masters actually.. 6ply 7.5mm 100% Maple Shells! I think they were in production in the 80's pa. Depending on the condition probably, if it's THAT bad. I would just suggest on getting a new kit.

IMO a drumsound consists of..

90% Tuning/Heads/Bearing Edge
10% Drum Shells

:)

if MLX is indeed 6-ply maple without re-inforcement rings, then it's current counterpart is the MRX...

Anyway, thanks for the information, guys!

kung ako sa inyo sir bammbamm, bili na lang kayo ng catalina maple... halos hindi mo mapapansin ang pagkakaiba ng sound between those two kits...

or better yet, bili na ng current pearl masters!!!
:-D
