This will be three evenings of classical guitar concerts featuring the talents of the alumni, faculty and students of the conservatory’s guitar department.
The first evening concert will feature the Nebrija-Ramos guitar duo and their program will present various works for two guitars by Boccherini, Granados..., Sor and Pujol. The second half of the concert will feature Alberto Mesa in a performance of works for solo guitar by Britten, Rodrigo and Dyens. The second evening features the Roxas-Basilio duo with an eclectic set of pieces which includes the Mediterranean Sun Dance by Al DiMeola. The second half will consist of music for guitar and voice performed by soprano Elisanta Cortes and guitarist Ruben F. Reyes, featuring songs by DeFalla and Britten. The third evening concert is by the UST Guitar Quartet and the UST Guitar Ensemble led by Ruben F. Reyes in a performance of quartets by Rak, Domeniconi and Koshkin and arrangements for guitar ensemble of works by Pachelbel, Albeniz, Faure and Dyens.
GUITARRA 2011 is the UST Conservatory Guitar Department’s contribution to UST’s Quadricentennial celebrations.
All concerts will be held at the UST Museum, Mezzanine Level, Main Building of the University of Santo Tomas at 7:00 pm. Tickets will be available at the venue before the concert. For reservations and further information call 09274606036.
