hi guys, sa November 17 (i think) na daw yung release ng new PlayStation 3 console ng Sony. i saw several clips na of their first games.. grabe ang quality! i dunno if there are many gamers here but the PS3 puts most gaming PC specs to shame, not to mention na very interactive pa ang buong console itself. may WLAN na for online gaming (and surfing na rin ata), hard disk drive, Bluetooth controllers (pero pwede pa ring cabled), etc. by the way, it also uses the new Blu-Ray disc format. it has around 8-10 times more capacity than normal single-layer DVDs, i think. and backward-compatible pa rin sya with CD and DVD formats.

i'm sold. pag medyo nagmura na to, kukuha ako for sure. kukuha ba kayo?

IMHO sobrang mahal ang ps3.

kaya kuntento na ko sa xbox360 ko. hehe. tapos nintendo wii nalang. yung presyo
naman ng wii+360=ps3.

mga pare! hindi naman pala US$750 ang PS3, merong $499 version and $599 version. ang main difference between the two is 20GB ang hard disk drive ng sa $499 and 60GB ang sa $599. meron pang ibang features pang meron sa more expensive version na wala sa cheaper one pero di ko pa alam kung anu-ano yun. probably built-in WiFi? yes, mahal pa rin pero specs na ng malupit na PC yung PS3 so sulit pa rin sya siguro

Sony Confirms PS3 Scaling Prob, Promises Fix

Sony has formally recognized the scaling issue present when attempting to play 720p format PlayStation 3 games on a HDTV lacking 720p support. Such games are currently downscaled to 480p instead of being upscaled to 1080i. Engineers are working on a firmware update to resolve the issue, though there is no estimated time frame indicated for release.

"A small number of older High Definition television sets found in the United States only have 1080i inputs for HD signals. Those televisions will currently only play some PS3 titles at 480p resolution. PS3 games render images at either 720p or 1080p for High Definition, and you need 720p input on the TV to play select games that do not support 1080p. This is an issue on the side of the individual television sets, which do not accept 720p input, so when a game outputs an HD signal only at 720p, these select TVs have to display the game at 480p instead."
