KitC, BAMF and Me are planning this thing for about 3months now. We really want to share our knowledge for those striving amateur audio engineer on how to set-up their own home recording. This project will push thru if we have atleast 10 people thats gonna sign up.

Since this is about PC audio, it will focus on pc hardware and software, digital audio basics, basic and advanced pc configurations, audio interfaces, midi basics. Audio software such as DAWs, editors, pattern sequencers, etc.

In all truth, I was preparing a lesson plan last night but was stopped when it came to hardware since the technology is in a flux; multiple cores are now becoming the norm and it's impact on computer recording will slowly be felt by all. I could have discussed the merits of comparing the different platforms and OS, but with XP on the way out while Vista was still unproven, it became clear that software was the one thing that was consistent at this juncture. This was one of the reasons why I asked what the attendees were using. I think in part 2, we will concentrate more on software techniques with modules on Audition, Cubase, and Sonar, and a section for those who do midi.

wow! it seems super duper success yung lessons ah! congrats for completing phase 1 of the lessons, i really wish I could have joined Kit and the rest and learned from the masters themselves:) Good luck on the second part, Kit, I think specializing the second module would be a good idea so the students will be able to adapt the lessons better to their own work.

i really liked how kit focused on explaining to us the sampling rates, latency etc.
now we really know what the heck those are haha
and ang galing ng explanation ng difference of analog and digital.
hope this will be a constant thing. parang monthly meetings etc haha
so we can share stuff and report on the stuff we learned and applied, have discovered
or discuss our problems.
and hopefully soon sir abys could have a vacation and visit and be part of the meetings hehe

it'll be focused on daw applications na... such as adobe audition, cubase and sonar. based on the last workshop mukhang mas marami gumagamit ng ng tatlong software na to.
it'll be a 2 day workshop, 1st day Adobe Audition and Cubase. 2nd day cont. of Cubase then Sonar
tips in tracking, mixing, editing ang topic.

mga sir pwde bang makahingi nung hand outs? heheh! im fairly new in this business at talagang maguumpisa pa lang ako ng sarili kong studio. around 10 years na akong paikot ikot sa music, pero ngayon palang ako maguumpisa mag digital recording hehehe. i've learned a few things sa pro tools from watching engineers record songs and helping them out sa recording, at hanggang dun palang experience ko pag dating sa pro recording. sa bahay sinusubukan ko lang magrecord with Sonar 6.
