New Member - questions on exposure
« on: July 27, 2006, 08:41:00 PM »
hello!
I'm a singer and I play "okay" guitar... not that good but I feel i could survive a 10 song set of covers with just me and my guitar...
Been looking, forming, auditioning for bands for some time now... nothing seems to stick...

I was wondering if any you have any suggestions on how to get experience in the gigging circuit.
Right now, since I can't seem to get a band going, I'm wondering how to get gigs at bars or coffee houses... I play rock and roll... but since it's just me and no band --- rock music in acoustic stripped down form... I do covers and I have some original material
I really wanna play loud and fast and heavy but can't do much about it

Any advice? anyone who owns a bar who'd like to give me gigs... kahit opening act lang haha

Thanks everyone!!!

absolutely correct! also, add more songs.. if u want 2 play coffee shops/bar gigs, have at least 45 songs at ur disposal.. & prepare ur self 4 a tiring 3 sets :D  after that, make an appealing profile of urself or ur band w/ ur repertoire & send 2 participating outlets hehe :wink:

maybe i am gna do a walk-in kinda thing
as for demo tapes... ant suggestions? should i really get a 4track recorder like a friend of mine mentioned?
coz i was thinking if i used a regular little recorder i'd sound worse than i already do...
problem is i think a 4 track sells for like 20k am i right?

kelangan mo lang ay:

-->PC w/ Soundcard (Full Duplex Dapat)
-->Good Mic
-->Audio Software

Record kana, pwede mo pa i-edit sa PC mo yung voice mo.

lagyan mo ng effects, like reverb, delay, kahit ano...kahit wah wah hahaha!

tanta lang ng tanta!!! Trust me, vocalist din ako...
