:D Hey what's up people..this just brought out to me David Pajo a guitarist of Zwan....For those who dont know, Billy Corgan ex leader of the band group called Smashing Pumpkins.They broke up and billy put a new band callled Zwan.which is David is a member.He is not pure filipino but his half cacusian and filipino which is great bec. were filipino are dominating the music scene......which make me more of a fan of Zwan

i just saw the video of zwan's honestly a few hours back....their music is refreshing, more of a solemn billy corgan...though i haven't noticed the guitarist...tingnan ko nga...;)

have you heard of the band called versus?..i think they are from the east coast (NYC) but i know most of them are also filipino...the baluyut brothers..they are not that famous in mainstream standards but they are pretty much well-known in the indie circles...they sound a bit like the pixies, yo la tengo and sonic youth...

ATTN:

hey anybody in the long beach/ carson area wanna play guitar o for an experimental psychedelic art-punk band? boy or girl - it doesn't matter (but a girl would be better to add some balance or a guy with feminine characteristics will do...hehehe)
My Sad Republic, is in need of a guitarist...basic guitar OK..no guitar heroes please...must be open for tripped out mind-expanding music and must have own guitar...we usually practice 3 times a week...influences don't matter...the less influence-the better...no influence? perfect...

I think konti lang ang nakakaalam nito sa inyo. Have you heard a trash/death metal band Death Angel? All of them are filipino. sila lang ang pinoy trash band n nkaenter sa trash scene ng U.S. and luma n yung issue ke kirk hammet. Mtagal n naming alam yan. And if im not mistaken, nakapenetrate n rin ang Dahong Palay s U.S. nsa Metal Blade n yata sila ngyon.

Kasi ung artista sa Wizard of Oz: Billie Burke. Siya yata 'yung good witch. Sabi ni Billy Corgan, hindi na raw siya dark at aggressive. Hence, Billy Burke, and Zwan.

Hi

Just to add to the whole Zwan thing, David Pajo is really more known here in the US as guitarist for the most influential indie rock band ever, Slint.  Sure, everyone says they're influenced by Nirvana but most indie rock bands, especially the ones doing emo and and math rock should check out 1991's Spiderland album.  Odd time signatures and whispered/screamed/chanted vocals have been cribbed by many bands this side of Yellowcard.  Slint recently toured the US to sold-out dates.  So...if you could score a copy of Spiderland, be proud of the fact that there's another Pinoy out there that influenced a lot of indie rock guitar players (aside from Joey Santiago of The Pixies).  First pic is of Slint.  David is the one at the extreme right side.  The second pic is the album cover of Spiderland.
