Ano ba ang definition sa Pilipinas ng "magandang music" or "magaling na artist" in the first place? Curious lang po ako...

hmmm, tough question there, c-d-f! but judging from what's being said here in the forums... probably bands and artists like bamboo, slapshock, kitchie nadal, (new) rivermaya, etc. that sound exactly like american and british bands and artists but 10x worse? hohoho! :D

Hahaha! You're so evil it's no wonder you have many friends  :lol:

===end message===

I mean, really... is it popularity contest like being in a McDonalds or other commericals? Is it album sales like staying in the Tower Records charts as they cater to teenage kids' "uncomplicated" tastes? Is it airplay like APRIL BOY REGINO and those NOVELTY guys pull off?

But what if a really technical Filipino Death Metal band that can go toe-to-toe with a band such as Nile emerge? Fine... let's not go too extreme... let's say Thrash Metal and 80's Metallica instead. Would the Filipino music scene embrace it and recognize their musical prowess? Would the majority of listeners even "deign" lend an ear? In a land where Judy Anne Santos (whispers something that resembles wind pushing out of my a$$) pulls off a platinum album and Willie Revillame/Andrew E. "raps", what exactly is a good band?

Just a lint from my pocket

I've just been on the phone with Jerwin aka the real Emogeek. He says he is not this character "Jerwin Tanda" who obviously has a beef with Jerwin and is doing things to discredit him and our Band in the lowest fashion imaginable. Kindly disregard any post by this character "JerwinTanda". Thanks. BAMF

Not to go off-topic, but one of my Hispanic friends likes the song despite not being able to understand a word in it.

i think wala in particular. nasa tagapakinig lang yan...

you see, we have different preferences, just so--- like we want to watch horror film more than that of a mellow dramatic one, drink red wine and not white wine, speak in a foreign language than speaking our own...

so, wala.....

speaking of kitchie nadal, i don't really like her but that song--- huwag na huwag... i did like. in my case, maganda for me yong melody ng kanta. and also- maybe it got popular because it was used in a korean telenovela sa ABS CBN (Lovers in Paris yata).

regards to all!
