so this exact same thread has been done before, and you guys are probably laughing at me for being a [gooey brown stuff] and repeating this thread.. but what the hell, like i care right?

so anyways, what do you guys think of covers? do you have any certain fav. ones? if you do then what are they? philippines or u.s. it doesnt matter, as long as its a cover song.

i personally covers are great, specialy when a certain song is really good or famous... but on the other side, i hate it when a certain band covers a cetain song but makes it sound like a crying cow.

here are my fav. covers:

Blitzkreig bop- ramones, covered by greenday and other bands.
She is beautiful- andrew wk, covered by children of bodom.
Bed of nails- alice cooper, covered by children of bodom (the original version kicks ass as well)

those are just the icing off my head, i gotta review my mp3 collection to see my other covers.

i think doing covers is the first thing we all do when we play in a band. there's nothing wrong about it i think.

in terms of songs that i usual sing these with my band:

1. Interstate Love Song - STP
2. Stray Cat Strut - Stray CAts
3. Rain - The Beatles

yeah i agree.. me and my buds are currently doing a cover of slayer's Angel of Death, weve been doing some technical stuff for now... so far, so good.

i love Rain by the beatles though... ive been listening to them since i was like 6 or 7, i dont remember.. just because my mom plays them too much back then, so it got into it and actually thought that it was better than any of that hip hop crap

good luck on Angel of Death dude. Take it from me, that was the first cover my band did. It was hard. Especially when the guitar solos are up.

^yeah I heard that it is, i looked up the tabs for it, but when we tried jamming with it.. it sounded complicated not to mention hard, but hey we gotta start somewhere

vocals of the song are mighty easy though. Copying Tom Araya's vocals is easier than breathing.
