Mas sulit PSP, you dont have to buy expensive UMDs, just download games at torrents ex www.mininova.org, then install to your mem stick(4gb much better), you can also compress d ISO(game file) to save disk space...

DS? parang pang kids mga games. :-)

pag gusto mo maganda ang gameplay, go for the DS...matagal pa ang battery life

pero pag mga graphics sa psp ka na kaso kaunti lang ang mga magagandang games sa psp...

hindi gagana ung games sa tv pag hindi progressive ung TV nyo. ang pwede lang eh mga videos, music, etc. :-)

If you're really into gaming I suggest you go for the Nintendo DS. True, a lot of its games are childish and somewhat immature. But you have to try the gameplay experience first before you make your decision. The games are simple yet addictive and the repeatability is better so that means longer shelf life for your games. The new releases are really exciting, especially Ninja Gaiden. Imagine slashing your enemies with the stylus! This handheld is specifically MEANT FOR GAMING and is the current marketshare leader worldwide with a wide insurmountable margin, now there should be a good reason why sony is trailing with their PSP. And nintendo is gonna hammer the last nail on sony's coffin with the Wii.

If you're up to doing something else aside from games, like multi-media player then go for the PSP. Actually, Sony intended that for the PSP since most of the games in that device is not really as engaging.

Make no mistake about it. I'm a sony fan on all other stuff but not gaming. Nintendo is the household name for games and they do the quality assurance for all developers unlike Sony. Sony just wants money from all of us and release a lot of crappy unsuable games, you end up disappointed after 2 mins of playing.

But then again, it's a matter of personal preference.

Yup, you're right the Gamecube was really a flop. Because Nintendo then was trying the same philosophy of Sony and MS. But now with the DS and the Wii they went back to their old formula which is really hardcore gaming and experience. The DS actually brought back the interest of the gamers to handheld consoles and the PSP will always be chasing. Despite the inferior tech specs publishers believe that it's still at par if not over the PSP, as per the article you cited for example. Not to mention that it's way cheaper too!!!

i have an NDS and it fits my gaming needs (adventure/action and RPG games), though gusto ko din magka-PSP kasi nga ganda ng graphics at nandun ang MGS series at NBA Live.

kasi ung NDS ko ginagamit din ng mga anak ko kaya favorable talaga sa kin dahil daming edutainment games for NDS and the fact the you can fit 20-40 games in a 1gb memory card.  :-D

if you like Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Final Fantasy or the likes then NDS if for you. ang daming magagandang RPG games sa DS at marami pang padating this christmas season.

sa PSP, im not so familiar with some of the big titles but i really like its graphics and sound.

with regards to multimedia capabilities, my NDS can also play mp3's & movies (with homebrew) and its WiFi is topnotch too. :D

there is already a working DS emulator for PC but it still has plenty of bugs, usually its being used by 'Homebrewers' and testing of some games/apps for the console
