I was wondering if it would be a good idea to get vocal mics WITH switches such as the Sennheiser E8_5S models and the like.
Example, first part ng service may usher na gagamitin yung mic to remind the congregation that the service is about to start and to mute their mobile phones, after that iwan nya yung mic (ON) then yung mag opening prayers, gagalawin yung switch ng mic so OFF na sya, tapos may start na yung prayer, hindi sya marinig, then yung sound man mukhang ewan senyas ng senyas dun sa nagdadasal (which hindi nya syempre makikita dahil nakapikit sya), pag may hindi nakapikit na musician, makikita nya yung soundman, lalapitan nya yung nagdadasal, para sabihan na i-ON yung mic. after nun may instance na iwan nya naka ON yung mic, minsan naman switch OFF nya, tapos yung next pag hindi properly oriented (or sa case namin bura na yung ON-OFF markings), hindi nya alam kung naka ON na ba, so mag "Test, mike, test" pa sya. yun kagulo tuloy, kaya ginawa namin balik SM58 dun sa main mic, then yung mga Sennheiser na may switch binigay namin sa mga backup singers.
