Title: Our Lego Addiction

GAS for Legos is reaching fever pitch for me and my son. Its all we talk about! All good as i can use it as leverage to do well in school.We acqiured a Star Wars Rancor pit set with out the minifigures for cheap and the fun and hunt begins for the Rancor himself. Now we need to get Jabbas Palace to put it on top and expand it. Kaadik!
yeah! haha yellow, red, blue the 80's batch.. even got the policeman dude..but I melted him when i taped babyrockets to him and sent him up in the air..haha
checked them on ebay..probably could cost 500-700 to a thousand pesos for a mint spaceman..haha not bad

nice thread, nabuhay ang interest ko sa lego dahil dun sa movie, nagkaroon ako nung red space guy dati kaso ayun nga dahil bata pa ako eh nawala na. so far ang meron na lang ako is mga mini figures ng movie. saka parating na order ko na batman/flash set hehe at yun Ghost Busters Ecto 1 set. eto pa lang mga latest mini fig ko

Nice one Art. Ghostbusters set is really nice pwede sya i-expand between monster fighters and city themed sets. This is the masterplan for us....imagine a table tennis sized lego city with various scenes and themes!!
Monster Fighters 10228 would be a great set to go with Ghostbusters.
Still havent opened this one though gusto ko ng buksan. Next week is his exams so he has to go thru that one and read 5 books fluently and sort out his chaotic lego work space.

Happened to pass by the toy dept during lunch and got a 2014 catalogue..hahaha Technic , for me is still the most kick ass...i also like the Creator Line...never liked those fancy character lines..like those bionicle or chimera stuff..even harry potter..pffft...

by the way, nabasa ko na production will be moving to china..ewan ko lang kung tuloy na to ha..hahaha..pero ang dami ng rip offs na lego dito..of course ibang plastic.. pero I havent bought any legos here..
share ko lang din thoughts ko sa ARCHITECTURE line nila..
in my opinion...not worth it..maporma lang tignan sa box pero..walang dating sa actual..
lalo yung guggenheim..parang di nabigyan ng justice yung lego model..

@gandy the Sydney opera house is pretty ok but yeah yung line na yan very narrow ang target market.
Meanwhile heto latest MOC ni JD. He had the idea for a robot with a rotating head and torso with wings for arms. I suggested some tentacles for the legs.

Yup always a great time me JD with legos...though minsan ka stres....Lego parts everywhere. Minsan magigising na lang ako nadaganan ko si ironman sa mukha ko iniwan ni junior nung nagpaalam papuntang school.
He loves creating things sa lahat ng mga na-cannibalize na mini-sets nya. I just notice he doesn't play his big sets once he is done putting them together OR alam nyang magagalit ako pag winatak watak nya at ilagay sa pool ng spareparts.
Anyway heto trippings namin kanina Tony Stark pays a visit to Emmetts office. JD fixed it with a phone and an alarm bell plus a special jeep complete with canons. He also made a small At At for Obi Wan with gatling guns that rotate.

thanks bro. actually, it is more of an "ooc" coz it is me and my son's collection. :) it is a 50-50 share of fun. i get to build and my son plays. but he is starting to learn how to assemble small sets now.
btw, you and your little boy's collection are awesome also. especially that star wars r2d2. :) be sure to post photos of it when it's done.

Building this one right now. His mind jumps between steps and i realize he is somehow looking at three steps in one go. Makes me mad at times for i like to be thorough.
Kaya iniwan ko na lang sya and ill take a siesta nap before going back to work at 6. Lets see how far he goes.

:) to be honest he is a bit sharp and me I'm a bit slow these days that's why it freaks me out when he does that. I always tell him to follow the system.... Step by step.
When I went for a nap he did hit a wall and woke me up to ask me...hugged him and said...told you. He missed a 4x4 piece...he he.

hey Geezer nice sets, also lookin at micro fighters series. Also nice pics...did you put them in a product box with lights and all?
heto tapos na rin LOTR Orthanc Tower. It took us a while for its all black and confusing but once he got used to it he did the last four bags. Good exercise for the upcoming R2 build.

Ecto 1....man i was looking at that set. Very cool but a bit pricey if your looking at price per piece ratio. Still im pretty excited for you. Post pics about the build when you get it.

Anyways taught my son how to get an idea and modify that idea...sorta like copying but adding your own twist WITH the tools that you have and most importantly harnessing ones imagination and creativity.

Magkano na ba mga Lego ngayon? Last Lego days ko during the 90's pa eh.. Childhood days.. Super frustrations lang talaga, hindi ako nagkaroon ni minsan ng kahit isang Lego Star Wars.. Ang mahal eh. Bata ka pa noon wala pa masyadong pera.. Hanggang ngayon ata mahal pa rin o mas nag mahal pa.. :eek:

Finally got the time after 5 days on to our 18 days off. Kid was a monster. He didn't mind going from 12 pm till almost 1 AM. I wanted to finish up halfway but he kept on pushing me. Got my usual tantrums going but I guess he found a way to work around it...he knows me by now.
Come to think of it he got the most out of me by being patient....taking all my fits and not REACTING much. Kid taught me a lesson.

Since 5 years old ako, mahilig ako sa lego. Simula sa Lego System, nag-evolve sa Technic, hanggang sa Mindstorms. Tapos nandyan ang mga rainbow-colored na MOCs kasi yun lang ang meron na parts. haha. Tanda ko ang mga last purchase ko (o ng parents ko pala. haha), yung mga early star wars sets (early 2000's).
Then naging busy na sa school at videogames. Dumating na "dark ages" ko sa lego. haha. Naimbak na sa bodega ang mga lego ko.
Nung college, natuto naman ako maggitara at napahilig sa music. Nagbanda. Pero nung lumaon, naging busy nadin. So pati ang pagtugtog, nagka-dark ages. haha.
Ngayong nagtatrabaho na ako, naisipan ko magbalik-loob sa paggigitara. Nung birthday ko, bumili ako ng electric guitar bilang regalo sa sarili ko. Mahirap na desisyon kung ano ang bibilhin. Sa paghahanap ko, parang feeling ko andami ko pala gusto bilhin. At kahit nung nakabili na ako, parang di parin ako kuntento. Ito na ata ang pagtama sakin ng tinatawag nilang GAS. haha.
Biglang niregaluhan ako ni girlfriend nung birthday ko. Pagbukas ko, lego. Bumabalik lahat ng childhood memories ko. Gusto ko hukayin sa baul ang mga luma kong lego. Gusto ko bumili ng mga bagong sets. Parang kumakawala na ako sa dark ages. (sadly, di ko makita yung mga luma kong lego :cry:)
Sa pagtatapos ng dark ages ko sa lego, inaatake naman ako ng GAS. Parehong magastos! Anghirap maging mahirap. hahaha

the only lego set I had when I was young was yung outer spaced themed na kotse...ung puro black.
can't wait for my son to be old enough to appreciate legos. para may excuse na rin ako to play...este...collect again.

Ive managed to make him understand the difference in buying fake ones versus the real thing and the concept of saving money. Anyways this copy is pretty good all out. I was really impressed with the detailing on the face of Hulkbuster. No wobbly falling out pieces or hard to put together. I remember the copy ones we had were pretty much for MOC purposes and extra mini fig clones.
The minifigs are straight out pretty good WITH the exception of the always cheap feeling hands when it comes to copies like this one. All in all this is a 9 out of 10!
Dude is a bit pissed off. No opening till he spends some more time on the drum stool AND getting that Giant Swing at the end of that King grapple throw. He did it twice last night. I told him.....lucky try. It has to be at will.
Oh and he needs to get his hands dirty by re-potting 3 tomato plants. Arte nya ultimo chicken wings naka tinidor.

Best of 5 on Tekken Tag 2. Little Sh#t beat me. My King Shining wizard wasn't connecting. Got too cocky and His Yoshimitsu/King combo was pretty good. He also is now able to pummel his older brother in the game.
So far, the Batmobile pa lang ina-assemble ko from Jokerland. Haven't touched the other sets. hahanapin ko yun! may back to the future delorian din ako nakita sa internet kaso ang panget ng model..haha

oo! kasama..may firehouse pa sila..pero solb na ako sa ecto 1...4k plus..medyo madugo..pero I think once ma-stop production baka pwedeng maging collectible..

Cheapest place to get Lego locally is to join PH Lego groups in FB. You could easily get the Ecto1 there for around 3500, yung Bigbang naman is around 3600.

One of the PH Lego groups will actually open their event to the public for the first time. Tons of Lego for sale waaaay below yung prices sa Malls and even sa Lego Certified Store. Punta kayo guys if free kayo! :D

for me pinaka walang kwenta yung architecture sets..hype halos lahat--medyo ang panget ng pagkakamodel, pati yung presyo..lalo yung all white set na blocks..putik, kahit sinong arkitekto di majustify pagbili nun..hehe

halos isang taon na ako hinahaunt neto.. ang daming chance, lagi ko nalang sinasabi pass muna, baka junk lunk sa bahay...magkano sa pinas?
and serioulsy yung architecture series nila..sa box and cool..pero in reality..UGLY parang pinilit lang..overpriced pa,

my son is getting into this too. ang mahal nga lang sa pinas. sa europe around 15-20 euros yung small set and around 40-50 yung mga builders set like the mustang he is building.

i remember my sister giving my son the roller coaster as a gift for Christmas. dude, i spent the entire night trying to build it. nakakawala ng pasensya so many gears and moving parts but after building it and seeing it run, my sons reaction was priceless.
