ZBT 3+1 cymbal pack is around 11k. kaso 13" 14" at 16" crash ride lang ata yung size.
just groove with it and everything will be allright...

Im referring to the 14, 16, 20 sizes. the 13 14 and 18 are only good for home use eh. so kung magsheshell out ka ng 11k, tapos magigig ka rin in the long run, sayang lang din kasi malamang sa malamang ibebenta mo rin. isa pang issue kasi dito sobrang bilis mabasag ng ZBTs eh.

Ah i see.

Yun yun patina tama?
just groove with it and everything will be allright...

HELP ON BUYING OUR FIRST DRUM KIT
« Reply #845 on: May 15, 2014, 11:38:42 AM »
GUys our church will be buying our first drum kit this month, I have already search the forum and can still not find what I've been looking for...

Can you please help me decide what brand is best suited for our budget of P40-50k? With this budget can I already have a decent set of cymbals too?

One more thing, should I need to buy a new set of skins/drum heads to replace the skin/drum heads that came with the kit?

TIA Philmusic...

God bless everyone.

Assuming that you'll go brand new, it is best to approach a store and tell them your budget. All stores will have some sort of kit or package that fits your budget. Don't hesitate to tell them that you will be canvassing through all the stores and don't hesitate to show them your choices from the other stores.

Yes, you can have a decent set of cymbals for that budget. Make sure that you don't get a package with brass cymbals, because they break easily. Make sure that you're getting bronze cymbals. At this point, any kind of bronze will be fine... upgrade na lang later if you feel like it. If the store doesn't know what kind of metal their cymbals are, don't buy.

You don't need to replace the skins/heads if they are big brands, such as Yamaha, Pearl, Tama, PDP, DW, DDrum, etc. If they are China rebrand brands (RJ, Lazer, etc), replace the heads, because they sound like [gooey brown stuff] and are impossible to tune. For heads, Lyric has the best prices for the quality (Aquarian heads).

Maraming salamat Po sir Inigo... Yes we're eyeing for a brand new kit.

Im afraid due to our location my choices are only limited to these brands, Pearl, Tama, Sonor and Ludwig. Of these four brands mentioned which of them are of good buy if all are of the same price range (say P35-40k)...

Unfortunately though, we only have two music stores around here.

Ayus. Both JB and Audiophile have cymbal packages that are decent enough.

Any of those brands will be fine. Although I don't know how much their kits are nowadays. Best to ask them.

Also ask if they have a sale period coming up soon. I think may mid-year sale ang JB.

There you go bro. i agree with what bro inigo said. my advise is to get a pearl or gretsch kit with ZBT Cymbals if you're eyeing for bnew kits. These are from JB Music.

or a Basix or DrumCraft kit from LAZER then get a cymbal set like istanbul.
