Ok let me start, heres my ht5r head. Has tons of gain, sometimes too much, i just dial till 12 noon, isf is best on the british side, sounds very similar to my marshall afd100, lots of overtones, the digital reverb is a bonus. Cleans are decent but not that great, breaks up too early. This is loud even for a 5watter. Plug it to a 4x12 it will spank ur arse!

in the "biz" there is no such thing as too much gain...anyway thanks for the review i think i'll get one of 'em blackstars after my guitar gas

even those 1 watter heads can open up a can of whoop a$$ through a 2x12

here's my almost 1 year old HT5. its the old version with no reverb.  The stock cabs are fine but i decided to get a 2x12.............and will never go back :-D  agree with alvinratsim, a lot of gain and very useful isf knob, its like having 2 amps in one. There are a lot of 5 watter out there with err......not so good gain stages, but blackstar's not one of them. I used to own a  ht-dual pedal and mind you the gain is consistent. I like them best with ocd + a little amp drive and a les paul.

@alvin

meron ba 4x12 emulation and headphone jack yun sa yo? or nasa likod ng amp? yun sa kin pala nasa harap

@rmansh, yup its at the back. Ganda ng cab mo bro, whats loaded?
@myn, thanks, get one u will not regret it, i think there are only two 5watt heads left.

Once you go black you'll never go back!! I was suppose to get a marshall class 5 head, but after hearing the tone on this i had to get one, the class 5 can only do plexy, this can do almost everything

Guys dont get the 4x8 cab of blackstar, its only designed for the ht1 head. Its sounds like [gooey brown stuff] on the ht5. Just a heads up just in case you come across one

salamat sir, its celestion v30s, di pa sya 'broken-in' pero oks na :-D

ako rin nagtry ng marshall class5 , vox head & cab 5watt, tiny terror,  i picked this one. Its loaded with a lot of usable features and its just badass :-D

dapat di natin pag-usapan to baka tumaas ang price :-D

Blackstar HT-5R user here.. Binenta ko yung dati kong VOX AC4TV para lang dito. No regrets. Love the gain of this amp & the ISF. I always set mine to the american side. may pagka MESA ang tunog para sakin. Sana makapag palit na ng 2X12 na cab soon.

ht5 user here, i changed the preamp tube with GT' golds (i just like groove tubes), probably the only 5 watter out there that sounds this good(i like my e-wave but thats more limited in dialing different tones),

it shines well using a bigger cab, tried the HT20 and HT60..those are awesome :D

Blackstar HT5 (earlier version, no reverb) at the upper right, connected to a 2x12 Orange cab.
Changed the preamp tube with a Tungsol.

We tried a/b\ing them with the blackstar amps, pretty close to almost the same. Their delay is awesome. The boost pedal is really loud and clear.

Thanks, I'm really gassing for a boost pedal. I'll also look onto their delay.
