Not me...... clearly the only reasonable character in the bunch.  :-D

I do, however, recognize the logic behind the two posers' ( ) choice of muscle shirts that day.....

...... we were tipped off that only a folding partition would separate us from the Viva Hot Babes dressing room next door. Sure enough, the strategy worked -- biceps got the proverbial foot in the door.  :-D

Ha! Nakatugtog pa ba kayo niyan?  Funny thing is "hot-na-hot" ang mga tao on both sides of the partition:  one side literally, the other side figuratively.  Who's who?, bahala na kayo.  :-D

Taking a walk down memory lane:

i may have mentioned this in this exact same thread, but you know how some stories are for us.....they never get old! :-D

the allman brothers lineup was made up of: 2 guitarists, 1 vocalist doubling on a hammond B3, 1 bassist and 2 very distinct drummers.

2 drummers? now that's different...taking to account to what makes a band big in numbers nowadays.

usually ang nagpaparami ng band members today:

2-3 guitar players--usually the 3rd would double on keyboards or acoustic.

3-5 backup singers......and maybe 1-2 percussion players.

asides from the regular bass, drums lead guitar, keyboard and lead vocalist.

the blue rats have at one time, played a gig with twice what the allman brothers had in head count --and i am not talking about the head down there guys!

if i remember correctly it was a birthday party in batangas or puerto azul.

count it:

3 guitar players--3 beers, me and blue buddha

2 bassists--apa and percy

2 drummers--houdini and cesar

1 keyboard player--jj coloma

1 singer--tricie

1 sax--joey boy

although it was party, not many people came....there were more guys in the band that in the audience. :-D :-D :-D

"The Wall Of Sound".  :-D

It was in Puerto Azul. Didn't matter that there weren't more than 50-60 people at that party.... if you recall, it was a toga party. And many of them were wearing.... only togas(!). Ok, well, a few of them had underwear too. Good views from the stage.

Those were the days.

Precisely why I chose not to put on "the uniform"..... didn't want to be labeled a "poseur"....  :-D

And note that angelic glow in contrast to my mates' standard "mean rock n roll vibe".... although I have to admit that the deeva's semi-black-see-through-teddy-camisole-lingerie-like-thingie fills one's imagination with somewhat less-than-angelic thoughts. Quite deliberate I'm sure.

You have once again proven why you are the Rats' favorite official paparazzi-cum-chronicler.  :-D

Yup, tried it out tonight. Turned out great -- it's a keeper -- what a great tune. Modified it a bit so it's this weird blend of R&B/Funk and a Janis-style Hippie Blues delivery.

Even more interesting tonight is that we had some very special surprise guests.....
Tricie and Miguel showed up at Hobbit straight from the airport flying in from Sydney!!!

Did half a set with the band. Holy moley! We had all forgotten the power of that voice and why the Rats used to play so loud. She blew away our 40-watt Matchless and Tweed Bassman amps, a 200-watt Fender BXR, and Miguel's considerable pounding on that drumkit. Then she says she was holding back 'cuz she thought she sounded too loud on the monitors. Anak ng tinapa talaga.  :-P
What a great evening.

Catch them with other members of the Rats and Tebbet's band -- back to back at Handlebar on July 3. Head over there -- you won't regret it.
