Bumibili pa rin ako ng CDs. It still feels different when you own a physical copy. You actually own it. Unlike mp3 files from iTunes
the label cannot force you to surrender the CD because you paid for it. Companies like Apple and Spotify actually reserve the right to
remove a record from their database, even if you paid for it.
Also, exciting yung case eh. kahit vinyl or tape, yung mga liner notes, yung artwork sa CD, yung mga pre-gap songs and sounds.
You don't have that for digital.
And the best part: you can have those autographed. Imagine my frustration when Armi Millare radomly signed a vinyl copy of
Capacities in a random branch of Fully Booked and I did not have the money to buy a copy, let alone pay for transportation.
Iba talaga yung hawak mo eh.
Also, it's just fair that you compensate the artists for their efforts. Buying a record, whether analog or digital, is the easiest way to
give them compensation for what you get from them in this capitalist world. Di pwede ang thank you lang, kabuhayan din nila yun.
