it's not just about how fast you could execute the guitar solos. i'd much rather feel every note played by the guitarist.

WINNER.

"Di ba Sir si "Harold Faltermeyer" ang composer ng "Top Gun Theme"............then si "Steve Stevens" ang guitarist...

Noong nag download ako ng "Top Gun Theme" sa internet..............a lot of them naming the "Top Gun Theme" to "Van Halen" and "Joe Satriani"............but when I listen to it..............it's all the same..........

I can't distinguish who's who and whose whom..............I guess people shared the same file but named it differently.............or maybe it's just not my day...

Palagi kong na-e-encounter yang "Top Gun Theme" by "Van Halen" and the one with "Joe Satriani"............... pero i  can't actually acquire one........

I always end up downloading the same "Top Gun Theme"...........and that is by "Harold Faltermeyer" and "Steve Stevens"...........

Heto ang ilan sa mga paborito ko:

Gary Moore> Still Got the Blues

Slash > Estranged [ also one of the lustiest, sensuous guitars you will ever hear ]

Steve Stevens > That "Top Gun" Movie Theme na di ko maalala title

Prince > When Doves Cry [ na laging putol pag narinig mo sa radio, but believe it or not, Prince taught Def Leppard some tricks ]

Steve Lukather > Without  Your Love

malice and mayhem

Pls exclude all the gay solo artists like Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, John Petrucci, and any other gay guitarists

YNGWIE MALMSTEEN - Black Star, Far Beyond The Sun

JOE SATRIANI - Satch Boogie, Crushing Day

STEVE VAI - The Attitude Song

JOHN PETRUCCI - Pretty much everything. ;)

lol! maybe one day... i wouldn't want to post it here on philmusic anyway since i've noticed a lot of people here are more for how technical a guitar solo is than how melodic or moving it is. :P

also, the solo's quite "different" 'cause i use a lot of effects and noise so i doubt most people will appreciate it. :P

i don't care about the technicality or complexity of a guitar solo, to be honest. i also love using effects and feedback with my stuff. try me.

weezer's "el scorcho" has something unique about it. it sounds like its off-key but somehow fits the song perfectly. brilliant stuff by rivers cuomo.

very well said, I've never cared for them super duper ultra mega super super super fastest fastesest ultra mega fastesestsss 25 minutes long ad libs.........  or them adlibs every 20 seconds in teh songs.......

weezer-say it ain't so

simple as f*ck adlib, but tons of heart and soul.......
simplicity at it's best......

something that some guitarist would not understand......

i love almost all weezer solos up to pinkerton. mostly angular yung ginagawa nila.

my all-time favorite would be on tired of sex, followed by the "ping pong solos" on pink triangle. 8)
