pero malaki din ba ang diff in terms of durability ng medium thin VS. thin?

There is a difference but not really a night and day difference. Among the ones i've owned and tried out the tolerance in  weight difference can be as little 100 grms to as much 350 grms in larger sizes.

What i can say that is noticable between them is feel & response. A Meduim thin tend to feel  a little stiff but then it has a full bodied sound and longer decay. A Thin cymbal weight on the other hand feels nice upon stick contact but also has the tendency to sound splashy specialy on sizes 16" & below

thanks for the info sir $trayc@t  :-)

There's still an ongoing discussion about the durability issues of the thickness of a cymbal...

Other than a Factory Defect i had always believed that it is improper use and abuse that breaks a cymbal regardless of thickness.

If played properely a cymbal can last longer than it's owner's Lifetime

From my observation Hitting Thin Cymbals harder than necesarry will eventually break it.  Now if you hit Thicker cymbals (medium & heavier) with the same abusive force mas Mauuna mabale yung stick before you break the cymbal. But of course the kind of  stck itself is to be taken into consideration also.

Experience ko lang yan but i'm sure there are many that will say otherwise

anyone here using a K pre-aged dry light ride?
i'm looking for a washy ride that would complement for my 18" k dark thin crash.
any insights on this ride? does it wash closely like a K custom dark ride?
thanks!  :-D

may pre-aged K ako (ginagamit ko as main crash, kaso dati pang light ride din). washy siya kaso di nawawala yung "tah-tah-tah" niya. ayus yung ride, woody stick sound with dark wash, solid bell, powerful crash.

so ang pinagkaiba niya sa dark ride eh ung woody stick sound? kasi sa dark ride mejo bright pa. tama ba? correct me if i'm wrong?  :-D

I have the K custom dark ride and I had played the pre-aged dry light ride.  The pre-aged has that airy wash as described by plep as "tah tah tah"  The ping is woodier sounding than the dark ride.  The dark ride however has a slightly shimmery ping although still woody sounding to an extent.  The wash is also warm though not as airy.  I think the pre-aged will work well with traditional jazz.  The K custom dark ride is more of a "modern" type of jazz sound.  Considering that "modern" sound, the dark ride somewhat sounds brighter.

Thanks for the enlightenment guys! Nakatulong mga inputs nyo. It gave me an idea on what kind of zildjian cymbals to buy next since i play two different kinds of genre. Kumbaga soft to loud music eh hehe, and finding a versatile cymbal that would fit for different kinds of music. Cymbals aren't that cheap ey.  :-D

I think that is avedis nga. kasi iba yung K eh. kahit may light na K, iba parin yung kintab at aura ng Avdis, A.

galing nila.
