Heard the Mackie Thump twice, first at the demo room second someone using this for mobile works only 2 cabs no sub...for the money cant really go wrong with them plenty enough bass but can still benefit from another 2 subs if using for dance music :lol: but for voices and background music it will do the job....unless you can get some second hand RCF, FBT or EV within your budget then I probably consider them. :-)
By the way, does it needs to be active? plastic cabs? ..... if you've got the rest of equipment (amps, mixer, etc) have you consider the DIY route....surely for 50K budget Sir Jojo can sort you something out :wink:

Has any body tried the Kam Active speakers? Nakita ko yun Kam Soundforce 15A 350 watts RMS sa modular display. Srp is P16,800. This is more affordable compared to B3. Any reviews about this speakers?

sir ACM speakers. . angat yan sa B3 (in my own opinion)
ang active na 12: is 19K each ung 15" 24K ata each
wala ako masabi sa mga powered at passive nila, ganda tumunog, kapal kasi ng bahay . . makapal. .
ung active nila na 12" very loud and clear kahit open space. . gumamit ako ng isang pares lang ng powered na 12" sa isang mountain bike race ang lakas at linaw ng boses. .
saka ang ganda ng responce ng lows. . kala mo may sub ka na kahit na 12" lang driver. .

bought the samson auro d210 kahapon sulit sa presyo at tunog. bagay sa yo ang 12 or 15 :-) one thing i don't like is samson doesn't post the technical specs makikita mo lang sa users manual.

na audition ko ang k12 ang ganda ng tunog kaso di kaya sa budget kaya nag auro d210 ako pasok sa budget and pasado ang tunog.. listening to it right now w/ my ipod :-)

auditioned both for more than an hour kung acoustic at vocals puede na d208 pero kung may drums better ang d210. Best bang for the back imo. I have tried b3, behringer, titan, chromo, qsc, carlsbro, passport, eon, alto and jolly before getting the d210. Note that this is not the best sounding but for the price and performance i would recommend it. Btw the published ratings are peak not rms.

Okey na yung Auro 412 mejo mahal na ung 415, They got same specs at features except the 3 inches speaker difference, Wahehehe. Mukhang Samson Auro d412 n talaga ang magiging mic speaker ko for rehearsal studio at stage monitor for PA system.
Anyway ask ko lang mga master bat karamihan ng professional sa audio mas gusto nila ang 15s kesa sa 12s?

We use D412A sa church as percussion monitor and keyboard/acoustic guitar monitor. For the price na nakuha namin ok na ok.

yes. sa tabi halos ng malakas na drummer. with the volume lagpas ng isang guhit sa kalahati, at flat bass & high eq, mejo muddy ang tunog ko. although we have 2 electric guitarists, one acoustic, 2 percussionists, 7 vocalists, my keyboard, a bassist & a berserker barraging drummer. pero with proper tweaking kayang kaya.

As per their saleslady in Megamall, Impulse series has been phased out. What they are currently manufacturing is the PAU series. Eto yung may USB input at one mic input. Aka Karaoke. :)

That case, their pricing at Megamall isn't for you... Php16k each for their active 15-incher. You might get that at half the price in Raon. :-D

Yes sir pede isang piraso po un pero 8% lang ang discount nila kapag below 25kPHP sa audiophile.
tumawag ako one time sa audiophile sabi kasi pair daw bentahan nila ng d412 and d415, sana nga pwede per piece. sir remla, nasubukan nyo na ba mag connect ng active subwoofer sa active speakers like this, through link? malamang meron naman built in crossover un active sub.

Yes sir, onting audition lang kanina sa audiophile greenhills nasatisfy na ako sa lakas, problema wala silang pang-bayo na music dun i mean ung mga hiphop rnb etc na music. Hehe, Kung may kukuha pa nito unahan na lang sila i think tig 2 pairs of 412 at 415 n lng meron sila. As i said kung mag-woofer naman kayo okey na ang 412a, woofer n magdadala ng mga bayo kung panghiphop ang sounds ninyo, just my opinion mga sir, Newbie lang ako dito at review review lang din. Hehehe.

Ive heard those Samson Auro D412, i was satisfied with what i heard malinis tumunog good low freq. siguro nasa durability and support nalang ng distributor ang sunod na i-consider. :)
unless makakita ako ng speaker with same specs and same performance sa Raon but half the price. what do you think? :wink:

Per my experience, the Samson Auros and the Alto Truesonic powered series are the best in their price range. I A/Bd the Auro and the Thumps (both 15s) at Samash, and hands down on the Auros when it comes to clarity to the mid/high section with a decent bottom end sound. The Thumps have boomier base, but they do clip quickly while the EQ contour switch on.
Now for the Truesonics, I have the TS115A and they sound as good (if not better) as the Auro Series, but more gas. I just love their full face steel grill-very professional look. They have class D amps and neo drivers, also Alto put fans instead of heat sinks probably because of their amp's efficiency. I got a super great deal at Guitar Center that's why I opted them between the Auros. Their sleek design, clean sound and slightly higher power output are the factors worth to consider.
I don't know if you guys can test/get them there in the P.I., but I highly recommend them if you want a better alternative to their price-range.
ACM bos ang dating EVO. Ang XLINE mga produkto yata ng Kolin. Sila na lang ang nagpapangalan sa produkto nila unlike ang Samson na isang international brand talaga :)

I think case to case basis. If simple speech reinforcement, any two-way 15" active will do. Pag may live band na, adding low frequency reinforcement is a must.

We compared the Samson Auro D415 with our QSC K12. Of course I prefer the over-all sweet sound of our QSC but in terms of tight mid-bass, I think Samson Auro has the edge. The funny part I remember, our QSC was around 51k per piece (2010) when we bought them while the Samson is just around 16k per piece (2012). Couldn't ask for anything more. We just know when and where to use them to simply maximize our investments. :-) :-)

update on my samson auro kanina my setup ako birthday party pool party bilad sa araw yung speaker for 6 brutal hours yung playtime bglang nag shutoff yung isang speaker ko i havent read the manual kung my safety shut off device sya for peak or over heating pero after how many minutes boom ng boom naman ulit sya speaker ko no damage to my woofer, tweeter and amp i push it to the limit same sound pa rin.... pero ndi ko na ulit susubukan yun hehehehehe :lol: :wink:

the srm450 old series is one good speaker. it still uses rcf components. the version 2 is now using p.audio components. both series still sound very much ok. my old series however had some amp issues since it overheats easily.

small footprint 'bass reflex' subs will only be good for small to medium size areas. i do not recommend them for touring purposes especially for open-space events
i may go with the nexo ls1200 subs since i already heard them at an outdoor event in singapore. just load them with good drivers and a good amp, you won't have problems with power output issues

the samson, alto and b3 are not in the league of the jbl, rcf and qsc. it's like comparing a toyota with a bmw.
this simply explains the huge differences in their prices and their performances

If you want powered JBLs, get at least the PRX612.

I have 4 units of B3 TS360a and just recently bought 2 units of Samson Auro D415. Comparing the sound, almost same ang lakas and quality nila.. have yet to know Samson Auro D415's durability. Sa B3 kse subok na sa touring though mas cheaper ng almost 4k ang Samson kesa B3 which is quite attracting.

i did audition the samson d415 auro with the early release of the eon 515 and with a little tweak, i liked the samson more than the eon. but for some artists, they will blindly choose the jbl since they know it's a better and popular brand than the samson.

Bos Xelly 15" kasi yun D415 at 12" lang yun D412.
Kung parehas lang ang amp na ginamit, at kung sabihin na natin ay parehas din lang ang wattage ng speakers, advantage sa lakas ang 15". :)

Napakinggan ko kanina B115d. Para sa akin masmasarap sa tenga yung Auro D415. Parang magkasinglakas lang din sila. Tsaka sabi nung salesman dun hindi raw talaga 1000watts yun B115d. Marketing strategy lang daw ng Behringer yun. Masa 450-550watts lang daw yun. Ano masasabi ninyo dito mga sir?

Yes sir. Yung Auro ang bigat talaga compared sa B115d. Nagtataka lang ako dun sa totoong power talaga ng B115d. Nakalagay kasi sa manual 1000watts maximum output power pero masmalakas lang siya ng konti sa Auro D415 na may 400watts peak.

They maybe a little bit pricier but the sound quality and feature set (plus their weight) would warrant them, IMHO. ELX sounds great but may not be road-worthy as the others, though.

I agree Sir malayo po ang price, weight, power ng B115D, I myself would want one for general PA needs sa church namin. Tama rin po kayo to express doubts if its at par with the others mentioned in terms of sound quality, IMHO lang po. ok lang po sound nya, IMHO, but not in the category po nung mga nabanggit sa itaas. I thought even the Samson Auro I heard at audiophile sounded a little better, but that's just me, Sir.
Sorry po OT malapit na po kaming bumili ng Elixir at ULTEX from you Sir Xelly, sana may abutan pa kami.

i still would prefer the samson auro when over-all sound quality/price ratio is the main concern.

ey Xelly! oo trip ko nga mag12s, kaso tempting yung price nung laney cx10 @ 8k, tinanong ko yung JB kung may 12" model yung laney kaso wala daw.. <_<
may alam kang reputable stores sa raon na may behringers? baka lang makahaggle pa ako sa raon than sa in-tune e.. kung meron dun na nasa sub-10k price range, panalo na yun! :-D

i will add a compact sub and will only be used in my personal rehearsal studio.
i really liked the sound of the beta 3 8", eto gamit sa conspiracy bar. hindi ko pa kasi naririnig yung auro 8"
Suggest ko Sir hear them out sa Ali Mall, Cubao. Halos magkatabi lang ang TMS (Beta 3 U8a dealer at Audiophile (Samson dealer.) Medyo fresh pa sa tenga mo yung tunog nung isa saka ka lumipat sa kabilang store to hear the other one. What do you think? :)

Di kaya difference lang ng frequency range covered and napansin nyo sir? 15-inchers tend to provide a wider spectrum than 12-inchers and so the latter may throw more mids than lows, which may be perceived as "louder". Again, I wasn't there when you experienced the difference (and I haven't really heard both at the same time to compare) so I could be totally wrong. Just throwing it out there for discussion purposes. Feel free to reply with, "Man, you're dead wrong!" :)

Im thinking of buying yung mas lower model na lang nila yung d210a, kaso 1pc. na lang available, ano kaya magandang ipartner dito same watts ibang brand?
And kung babalik ako sa date kong pinagpilian which is samson d208 vs. beta 3 u8a? Gagamitin lang kasi sa home studio personal rehearsal, pang vocals lang na may clean at halong growl sa pag kanta.
Ano po ma suggest nyo? Semi pang bugbugan naren na music. . Hehe..

Mas OK kung magkaparehong brand ang gamitin na monitor speakers. Ang lalabas na tunog ay consistent sa performance ng dalawang speakers at pareho ang dynamic range nila. Dynamic range ang paglakas at paghina ng tunog. Kung magkaiba ang brand ng monitor speakers, hindi magkatulad ang paglakas at paghina ng tunog nila. Kung hindi magkatulad ang dynamic range nila, paano ka magtitiwala na ang naririnig mo sa unang monitor speaker na malapit sa iyo ay ganon din ang naririnig pag tumapat ka sa pangalawang monitor speaker? Also, how can you be confident that you have a true reference that is uniform in both level and frequency response?

Notorious for fakes ang Raon pero that does not mean lahat doon ay fake. May mga dealers doon of just about every branded stuff na featured dito sa forum. There's a good chance that their dealer's price is lower than the distributor's so canvass muna talaga before buying. Whether you go Beta 3 or Samson may mga authorized distributors niyan sa Raon as well as other branded ones. Kapag sanay ka na sa Raon madali nang malaman ang karamihan sa mga fakes, if not all. Pinakamahirap na sigurong madistinguish ay some (not all) Shure mics na fake, but for other products di ganoong kalapit ang pagkakakopya. Again may mga reputable na stores sa Raon who carry original, branded stuff na mas mura because dealer's price yun if I'm not mistaken. If you can, pa-order ka sa kanila and ask that you yourself will unbox and test the product in the store prior to buying, if that will give you added peace of mind (I'll do that if I can :)) Ingat sa pagbili, Sir. Hard-earned money yata yan. But IMHO, Raon is a viable stop if you're shopping for audio gear, with caution of course. Good hunting :)

Thanks po sa mga input mga sir, beta 3 na lang kukunin ko for my small home studio, instead of samson, mas maganda nga tumunog compared kay samson, Ma low ang tunog ni samson d412, si beta 3 naman malinis, malinaw at malakas.
And majority sa mga kilala kong gumagamet ng active speakers b3 nirerecomend nila saken, mura kesa kay rcf at jbl, kasi pagdateng sa warranty mabilis ang service nila compared kaya samson na inaabot daw ng buwan bago makuha.
And wala pa din akong narinig na negative feedback sa beta 3, although kahit wala ako makita review nito sa online.
Il post pics pag nakuha ko na yung beta 3 ts300a, inaantay ko lang approval ng 15-20% discount ko sa tropa who works in a music store, Hehehe.. .

kaya nga eh, if your reinforcing a live rock band tumitigil talaga daw. Ive read, others put an external fan sa likod ng mga eto(600 series)...im not really a fan of class D amps eh..magaan lang sa bitbitan not meant for quality sound and being pushed to the edge:) Pero kung pamimiliin ako between QSC kw and JBL prx...sa prx nako! :)))

Dalawang class D amps meron ako puro Behringer. Inuke6000 tamang gamit lang pero yung B115d naman abuso ng gamit. Magagaan lahat compared sa ibang power amps & powered speakers and so far hindi pa ako nifail. Ewan ko lang kung ano nangyari sa class D crown amps ng prx? :? Marami namang nagsasabi yung nakaka-overheat ng prx hindi daw marunong gumamit. :?

Really like the sound, napaisip nga ako parang masmaganda pa tumunog kaysa sa hometheater speakers ko. Then pinatugtog naman yung QSC K12, ok din sya lamang lang ng isang paligo yung KLA :-)

Finally bought my active speaker. Bought the EV ZLX12P sa EVI in San Juan nung huwebes. It is the closest active speaker to QSC k12 sa presyong abot kaya ko. Hindi nakakapagod makinig ng music.
Pero bago ako pumunta sa EVI nag punta muna ako sa Ali Mall at pinakinggan ko din yung mga speakers dun. Maganda din yung Peavey na 115, nalalakihan at nabibigatan lang ako sa kanya.
Test ko kahapon yung isang pares na EV, nag start yung occasion sa school ng 7am upto 4pm non-stop yung background music, nasa 0db yung gain at warm to touch lang yung amp. May dalawang parents nagpunta saakin at nagustuhan yung tunog at hindi daw masakit sa tenga at malinaw na malinaw ang boses ng mga nagsasalita. Yung Bass nya pagmalapit ka sa speaker ramdam mo naman, pagmedyo napalayo ka na ng mga 15 meters yung mids and highs na lang.
Ang major na napansin ko feeling ko mahina yung music natatakot naman ako lakasan pa at baka magoverheat. pero compare ko sa dati kong gamit which is daiichi na 15" powered speaker mas malakas yung tunog ng EV kasi kahit sa kapit bahay dinig na dinig yung music. Siguro gumanda yung tunog kaya feeling ko kulang sa lakas? ganunkaya yun o feeling ko lang :-D :-D
Anyway I think this speaker will really shine sa mga enclosed spaces siguro next week baka subukan ko sa bahay.

Dude, the "local Crown" is really known to be CHEAP but not decent. But then again, if we don't have the funds, we often find the cheap ones to be decent already ....

I was advised by my technician friend na huwag bumili ng digital na powered speaker like ung Samson or ung Peavey because aftersales service issues mahirap magparepair,parts availability even if meron sila parts sometimes daw the cost is to high that you will end up bypassing the digital feauture of the equipment,he even advised me just to buy the Crown for reason of practicality ,its cheap,easy to repair not mentioning anything about the sound quality it will produce kung applicable ba sa pag gagamitan ko,parang mas nalito na yata ako ngayon kung ano talaga dapat ko bilhin

Hi guys kabibili ko lang ng bagong pares ng speakers. Sinubukan ko lang to change from another brand. Samson Auro d412 user ako at wala na akong masabi sa speaker na un. Very good speaker at wala ka ng hahanapin pa lalo na kung sa mga gusto magstart ng basic sound system at medyo tight budget. At ito naman bago kong speaker Alto ts115a i'm satisfied sa lakas nya for the price of P31,650 nabili ko to sa metrotech kahapon lang hehehe (Mura no?! hahaha! Super tawad ako kahapon pero ang price daw nito sa JB music nsa 36k+ ang pares so swerteng swerte talaga!) I'll give some insights and honest reviews sa Alto ts115a. Okey naman ang lakas nya syempre compared sa 400 watts na powered na de kinse mas malakas ito pero tingin ko hindi nya din talaga nameet yung 800 watts sa specification nya though para sakin okey na okey na to. :) At yung bass nya mejo nakukulangan ako ng onting onting bayo sa mga RNB at hip hop songs na pinapatugtog ko. Ala din siya equalizer pero hindi naman ganun kalaking kaso un dahil pede naman natin gawin through mixer ang pageequalize or kahit bumili na lang ng separate na eq. Yun lang naman ang mga reviews ko sa quality i'm still hoping will be the same as my Samson Auro na di pa din nasisira mag 2 years na. :D

At ito naman bago kong speaker Alto ts115a i'm satisfied sa lakas nya for the price of P31,650 nabili ko to sa metrotech kahapon lang hehehe (Mura no?! hahaha! Super tawad ako kahapon pero ang price daw nito sa JB music nsa 36k+ ang pares so swerteng swerte talaga!) I'll give some insights and honest reviews sa Alto ts115a.
Nag audition ako ng qsc, auro, behringer, jolly, fbt, and alto and I ended up with the auro based on price and performance. The best ang qsc pati price hehe. Worst ang alto sa pandinig ko.

wag d208, d210 at least - compared both of them - mas full sounding ang d210 and its what i have
used to have the d412 pair for a very short time mas maganda pa rin yun. i donated it to a church and got stolen a few months later while installed inside :oops:
my only regret, the newer behringer 12 powered speakers is the same price per piece as the d210

Auditioned them several minutes apart (forgot the models). In the test, alto's bass was weak. It's not the alto's source that's the problem coz we replaced the alto with a qsc and bass was good. I was with my drummer and we had the same opinion. Not conclusive coz the alto's settings may be wrong in the test.

i find this true between alto and samson auro. the alto's overall sound lacks depth and presence.
for the 'reasonably priced' tour ready powered speakers i've tested, the samson auro is my best choice.

Thanks for the info guys, I auditioned them last night. Went home with the alto :D
I found the behringer's eq not so flat, kinda bassy, had to so some adjustments to the eq for it to sound right.
Test music track used was ants marching by dave matthews band. Basis for comparison was the headphone sound I got used to (senn hd650, beyer 880).
Wasn't able to try samson though.
Am extremely happy with the purchase though. I'm currently using it as a drum amp :D Also bought a peavey pv8 :D

nasa design ng amplifier module ng powered speaker. kahit jbl prx625 class d amp module worth 100k+ ay bumibigay amp what more sa mga beh na not proven reliable ang class d amp nila. pansinin mo maraming for repairs na inuke nila.

Nakalikha na rin ng pangalan yung B3 in terms of durability. Sa audio quality naman kapag B3, para sa akin, maskilala siya na malakas kesa sa maganda tunog. Sa tingin ko bro hindi ka magkakamali sa B3. Pero hindi ko pa napakinggan yung S215A.

Reliable naman yung samson bro at mabait din ang tunog. Pero try mo rin yung Behringer. Masmalakas, masmagaan sa buhat at sa bulsa, dual channel pa. Ang problema lang ay Behringer ang brand.

been reading and referring to this thread for 6 months already. i think ill settle for the b3 ts300a because on paper, cya yata ang pinaka value for money at 400w RMS and down to 50Hz at -3db. Hoping my ears will love them when ill audition later. :-)

Need namin ng active speakers for use during events primarily for a band and few background music. Goal namin is clarity / balance especially on the loud volumes. It will be used in an open area with size of <80 sq.m.
Mababa lang ang budget namin so suntok sa buwan ang JBL and other same tier brands. Samson and the likes ang papasok sa budget. Kung may mas-cheaper models that can achieve our goal, then better. Questions would be:
- Will 2x15 powered speakers fit the requirements? Kaya na ba ng setup na to ang bass drum / bass guitar? If yes, what are your recommended models for this type of setup and price? - How about 2x10 or 2x8 together with a sub (what size will i get so that the bass drum/bass guitar/low end will not compromise?) for a 2.1 setup? What are your recommended models for this type of setup and price?

peavey pvxp15 bro and cyempre with subs.pair cost 32k+ at sanjun....... reliabilty at bugbugan ayos cya.biamp na kya claro pero i would suggest replace the hi frequency nya to a p audio bmd tweeter for upgrade worth 2,800 each akin bumagsak na as in front tumama sa cemento pero tuloy ang ligaya. il buy another sa low budget na rent but awesome sound.

I got 2 pairs of the Behri B115 active speakers as back ups for my QSC K12s. They have been performing very well. Almost 2years na and now became my regular speakers for portable set-ups and side fills. Mahal kasi ang parts ng QSC kapag nasisira.

I need help guys. I'm choosing between Samson D415 vs Behringer B115D. One is 400W and the other is 1000W. Almost same price range.
I'm going to use it for my band practice and later for equipment rentals for small to medium venues.
Can you give me pros and cons please? I saw a lot of praises for Samson and not so many for Behringer, but those were old times. Can anybody provide a good comparison please? I want to know what I should buy (a pair). Thank you

'published power ratings' are normally exaggerated and oftentimes inaccurate.
when we tested the two (auro d415 and eurolive b115), the eurolive b115 has better transient response compared with the auros but the power is not 'double the power' as most of us might think.

last saturday nag audition ako ng active speakers...
Beta 3 ang brand na napili ko... TS360a or U15a? yung TS 360a kasi medyo luma na talaga ang design pero maganda talaga tumonog hindi ka mabibitin lalo na sa treble... yung U15a naman medyo bago ang design nya pero parang kulang sa treble pero mas malakas naman ang bass nya... ano kaya sa dalawa...
Narinig ko ang behringer B115... basag ang treble nya masakit sa tenga tsaka halos magka presyo lang sa Beta 3... na audition ko rin yung AD na speakers na de kinse... maganda rin tumonog kaso grabe mas mahal pa sa Beta 3.

Dont be mislead by watt advertisement. The truesonic 115 is 400 watts program. The 800 watts is peak power.

For me mas important ang clear sound and SPL than wattage. May certain speakers that say 1000 watts, pero the actual SPL is only 120db. The JBL Eon 515 XT is 600 watts ata pero SPL is at 131db. Peavey PVXP 15 is 400 watts pero SPL is 127db

Yung Auro na 1000 watts na kamukha ng Behringer B115? Hehehe. Compared it to PVXP. Malayo tunog. As ive mentioned, PVXP is comparable to JBL EON 615 with the advantage of sounding more fuller because of the big enclosure(PVXP).

UP ko lang to mga master, So wala na bang makakabeat sa Samson Auro d412 at Samson Auro 415? I think eto na talaga ang pinaka-affordable na branded powered/active speakers na U.S made na gusto mag start ng small Pa set-up. If you have any brands na pasok sa budget na 30kPHP pasabi na lang po, Hehe, Kasi kapag wala na talaga eto na kukunin ko this week.

IMO smooth kasi highs ng JBL. Balanced na hindi masakit sa tenga. Pero hindi masyado pangbatuhan ng tunog.

IMHO
Have tried Fender, and Yamaha. Both are good in their own right.
Currently using JBL PRX715s and PRX712s. The PRX715 has a longer throw, can carry the low end, albeit not at pounding subwoofer levels, but the vocals seem buried in the mix. A little eq correction goes a long way, though. The PRX712 makes the vocals jump out and is easier to mix, but often need to be paired with a sub, depending on your volume levels. It's also great as floor monitors. I used to run massive JBL cabs with Crown amps but have never looked back after downsizing to JBL powered mains and monitors going thru a breadbox size Behringer XR-18 wireless stage mixer, with everything controlled thru an iPad app. Great sound, compact enough for everything to fit in my car and a huge blessing on minimizing back pains.
Many consider Behringer gear as crap, but I think they've improved their quality control, especially with the X32 boards. Mackie gear always puts a smile on my face and I find it difficult to get rid of my Mackie stuff.
Never tried a Samson; was very impressed with Alto wireless speakers when I heard them and have since been itching to try a pair.
In the final analysis, it all depends on how much you're willing to spend, the type of music you play, volume levels and the availability of the gear in the Phils. I have a pair of Bose L1 systems which sound exceptional for acoustic setup and practices, but couldn't "hold a candle" with the volume levels of my full band. Whatever you end up choosing, I think it goes without saying that your ears should play a huge factor in making your decision.

I saw an opportunity earlier this week that was too good to pass. JB had a 30% off sale on Alto and Laney speakers. Since I have been wanting to get active speakers for a long time, I checked them out.
My wife and I compared both the Alto TS112A and Alto TX12. THe salesman was trying to push the TS as according to him it is a better speaker with 800 watts compared to the TX which has only 600 watts with a price difference of only P3,000. Looking at the specs online, peak pala yung sinasabi nung salesman. Another difference between the two is that the TS has 2 inputs while the TX has only one. But then, I think that the TX is a safer bet kasi yung line/mic selector is a switch, while with the TS, it's nakashare sila sa knob. Kung hindi marunong ang gagamit (like the kids) baka malagay sa "line" while using the mic or vice versa.
So to make my decision. we listened to them side by side using the music in my phone which we hooked up to their mixer. Both my wife and I, and even some of the other store staff, agreed that mas buo and sound and better and quality nung TX12. I then wondered why the salesman kept insisting that the TS was better.
Now here comes the funny part. When I told the guy that I would get a pair of the TX, he said that there were only 3 units of the TX series, but 2 of them were reserved for a regular client. Yun pala ang reason. Kaso lang, walang downpayment na iniwan, so I talked to the manager who made a spot decision to sell the 2 units to me para sure na may benta sila because hanggang Dec 31 lang ang sale.
As far as the SQ of the Alto TX12 is concerned, maganda compared to my previous hi-fi system. We tried it using a variety of music sources and genres like techno, disco, oldies, jazz, ballads, and of course, karaoke. Sabi nga nung isang pamangkin ko, parang kumakanta daw sya sa bar pag slow songs, pero nung kumanta sya ng medyo mabilis, feeling daw ny ay nagcoconcert sya hehe.
Sorry for rambling. Masaya lang kasi ako sa regalo ko para sa sarili ko itong pasko.

BTW anyone notice magkamukha ang alto tx12 at topp pro argo 12a? AFAIK mas nauuna nilabas ang topp pro na unit and discontinued na sya nang lumabas yung sa alto.

Not recommended bro. Marami na rin naman na China branded speakers na cheap pero ok ang quality.
