May question lang ako about snare beds and bearing edges.  What do you mean by "roundover?"  Thanks!  :-)

yung middle extreme round over

yung nasa right ang full round over

both edge styles were common in the 60's and 70's hence they are referred to as "vintage style". ludwig is even notorious for selling drums without edges hehehe flat lang

:-D  Therefore yung term na roundover refers to the outer edge kasi no effect naman pag sa inner edge!

good luck  :-D coz a recorded snare sound passed thru a lot of processing in the studio, its hard to replicate it without a mic. no amount of tuning can make your fernando sound like your examples. its not that your snare is not good enough, its just different. you should have bought a steel snare if you want to get near the sound of lar's or danny's

sir peeves, with regards to micing and processing, ive been having a hard time reducing the overtones of my maple snare mic'ed with an sm57, does processing remove overtones or do i have to fix the muffling myself? kasi when i use an o-ring, sobra naman ung muffling, i cant get the crisp sound i want. Ang tuning ko is, snare side tighter than batter head, 14x5.5

hmm walang mali at walang tama hehehe

the best and most expensive is to buy every snare you can afford  :-D para kung hindi ka satisfied sa tunog ng gamit mo, e di palitan mo. tuning can only do so much to your sound

wow thanks po...paano po ba ang proper tuning ng snare? thanks po happy new year

there is no right or wrong, kung ano gusto mo tunog yun ang tamang tuning para sa yo.

"proper tuning" has been discussed to death here and in other forums. i suggest you check the drum tuning bible (hanap sa google) to start. tapos trial and error na lang on your part hanggang sa madevelop yung tenga mo sa tunog nung drum, malalaman mo yung sweet spot nya, kung ano tunog ng choked snare. its all just practice
