hehe tinatantya ko pa.

i cant make that switch easily. yung mastin labs presets ko ay canon specific. using it on a different cam raw file would result in color inconsistency. pero kung hindi m3 at mirrorless pa rin, sobrang tempted ako sa Olympus OM-D series.

Marzi!!!

Nice set. If this is a paid gig then you've got cajones man. I'm too scared to do stuff like this. Ano lens ginamit mo? I like the close up ones and the filled portraits. Not a fan of full body shots but I guess they like that. Would have loved to see some half body, rule of thirds landscape oriented shots.

Awesome work.

salamat repapips!

still working pro-bono. and i'm not scared if this paid din. this is the kind of photography that i would love to do. no rules applied din. well, maybe some. but i try not to. i feel like my work(creativity??) gets constrained by the rules. i stick to what i think is visually pleasing.

its my wifes office project. may santacruzan kuno daw sila and theyre competing according to presentation. theyve given me full freedom on the shoot so i directed and kept on shooting. may story line sana but we eventually steered away from it at nagpa lakad lakad na lang sa bgc.

what i missed doing was the way i chased up shadows and incorporated them in the photo. yung mga shots ko kay misis with the window grills blocking portions of her body. problema kasi eh midday sun ang time nyan shoot kaya wala ako directional light, puro pababa lang hehe.

and what i learned from this and the past shoots ive done: the first 30 minutes is the most uncomfortable dahil you and your subject are not in sync. your ideas are not syncing with them as well. what i do is i show them what weve got so far para may idea sila kung ano yung hinahanap ko and they will pick up easily on that.

this shot entirely with the 50mm 1.8 stm at apertures 2.0 pataas. i just found out that i cannot use the 1.8 aperture in environments na masyado maliwanag dahil grabe ang chromatic aberration at fringing and that would eat a good chunk of my editing time.

Wow...a photographic assignment na walang pressure and free to hone your skills. Nice. The 50mm on crop parang portrait which is fine maluwang kasi outdoor. Pansin ko nga parang mid day yung shoot. Still got some keepers from the looks of it.

matagal na nga sana nangyari kasi my wife has been actively endorsing me to her colleagues pag may event sila sa ofis. minsan dinadala ni misis yung cam sa office nila for corporate portraits tapos sakin ipapa-edit. tinuruan ko kung paano mag shoot ng maayos pero napapagalitan ko pa rin sya kasi di nya nakukuha gusto kong photos. problema ako nag eedit eh.

and yes, ramdam na ramdam ko na talaga yung limitations ng current gear ko. the plan is to stick with the 70d at salpakan ng 17-50mm 2.8 then i will buy a m3 at dun isalpak yung 50mm 1.8 for creative, bokehlicious portraits. or take the second option at maghanap ng used 5d mark2 or used 6d at mag serve na lang as backup si 70d.

Marami pa tayong kakaining kanin pre before we reach pro level. Anyways inspired by Marzi heto si Kumander and few basic pointers on what I like in portrait shots.
First of course dapat di cluttered and background and second lagi kang aware sa pose ng model mo. First shot you have to notice the most important thing I saw....she was hunching her back.
I thought I got it all covered but those shots when I asked her to straighten her back sa mga huling shots na tapos pagod na sya...alburuto mode. So karamihan sa scene na yan na akala ko maraming
keepers eh medyo walang dating sa akin.

I prefer the second pic but pixel peeping showed it wasn't sharp. I went way down to 125 SS somewhere there. I relied too much on the VR and got scared bumping up the ISO over 1000.

Also when it comes to gear at bokeh ang usapan siguro me lamang yung nagamit na lens. I shot it with a 70-200mm at 2.8 at the telephoto end BUT I'm pretty sure you
can replicate this with a Nikon D7100 paired with a manual 180 2.8 lens. A crop sensor with that focal length would definitely be a killer bokeh/portrait combo.

Same thing with my son. He is not patient with me and as he grows older he doesn't like being posed much. If only I had an assistant for I planned to bring some basic light set ups and reflectors.

Working fast, being aware and directing your subject is a whole different game.

oy!

di ko habit mag pixel peep and im loving the 2nd pic! at mukang pinaghandaan ni esmi mo yung session nyo with the poses hehe. or ikaw ba nag direct?

and why are they wearing sunglasses? pinapatanggal ko yan dahil important aspect ng subject para sakin ay yung eyes. maybe i will agree to taking a few shots with them wearing it but i will eventually ask them to pose without it.

and i also look forward to seeing you taking your gear and subjects out during daytime. man, you will surely have a good time out in the sun. ang saya mag hunt ng interesting na light sources at pang ilaw sa subjects.

I just asked her to use some light bright colored clothes and her hair is a mess. Direct ko sya pre at sa pixel peeping I guess I have to for I love working with manual focus lenses. Baby steps portrait muna that's why the shades at minimal eye make up. It was the wrong shades dapat yung mirrored.

Man with the sun out you need reflectors and fill lights at la pa tayong extra hand and flash basics.

di kailangan reflectors pre unless you're gunning for the hardcore portraiture results. may baon akong yn560 iv at isang large round reflector pero di ko nagamit ni minsan. try shooting an hour or two before sundown and you will definitely appreciate natural light.
