i was there last year and couple of years ago before to shoot

if you can't go really really really early to catch the balloons, i'd honestly skip it. after that, the whole day is going to be boring, hot, dusty and surprisingly crowded as hell. we thought they were going to light up the balloons again at night, because thats what the schedule said, so we waited the whole day... noooope. they fired up a few burners and that's about it.

never going back there.

punta namin jan lagi yung sunday, bagsak presyo na mga kites. hehehe

Baka pag weekend yan. I don't think madami ang crowd ng Thursday kasi alanganing araw eh. Baka Friday pa pwede. That's why I chose to go there on Thursday.

imo, if you're planning to shoot and you don't have a photographer pass, not really worth it. well, kahit may pass, I find the event boring. Nakapagshoot lang ako nung umaga at nung gabi na. I suggest after makapagshoot nang umaga (kung may pass ka), punta ka na lang ng marquee mall or go find other place to shoot then balik ka na lang sa gabi ulit.

So, ibigsabihin kapag wala akong photographer's pass hindi ako pwedeng mag-pasok ng dslr sa field or pwede naman except hindi pwede dun sa mga areas where you need a photographer's pass?

may bakod kasi, kaya kailangan maaga ka gaya nang nabanggit ko sa taas. para ma pwesto mo kaagad tripod mo, at maganda pwesto mo.

masaya naman, cyclone wire naman yung bakod,
nung unang punta namin dun dati sa may bakod lang din kami then telephoto gamit naming mga lens, then nung sunod na punta namin may pass na kami nakuha namin dun sa co-faculty ng misis ko sa la salle. ok lang din naman kahit naka halo ka sa crowd andaming subject na pwede kuhanan. kami nga pag nakakuha na kami magandang shot umaalis na kami sa bakod para maka pwesto na ibang tao,
then sa gitna kami ng crowd naglalatag ng earthpad, sarap picturan mga nagpapalipad ng kites at mga kids na naglalaro.

you can bring your camera. you just can't get close and its going to be really hard to get decent shots with the big crowd around you. some of my crew got stuck with the crowd that morning, and most of their shots are fuucking heads... i only managed to get my hosts and crew in the VIP area for free after convincing this guy guarding the gate -- turns out it was Poch Juinio.

Nyek... Parang nawawalan na ako ng gana ah...

maybe its better this year. other times i've been there were ok. just never stayed long enough to catch the night glow
