Crap. The first picture looks like an original but the actual pics of the many guitars in boxes seem to fail the "h to the right" test.

It also seems to fail the "pickguard screw in the center" test.

yes. the pickguard screw gave it away. masyado malapit sa edge just like what TS said. I dont know if the buyer know this too lol.

Now, here is the proper way to authenticate the guitar.

1. Ask for pics. Gibson will require several photos.
     - full body shot, front & back
     - full headstock shot front & back
     - markings on metal parts, bridge, tailpiece, input jack, toggle switch (if possible)
     - wiring
     - be sure all pics will not exceed 2mb

2. Email it to
     - service.china@gibson.com (for chinese made guitars)
     - service@gibson.com   (for USA made/korea/MIJ/others)

after 1 or 2 days they will reply to you.

What's good about this is you have something 'concrete' in your hands. Hindi basta sabi sabi ng kung sino sino. Also, Epiphone forums do not encourage the use of guitardater project. kahit member dun yun inventor nito. why? because guitardater project is not a database of serials, its just a algorithm  of numbers that corresponds with the manufacturing date of the guitar, which means, the guitar could be fake with a legit serial numbers. (stamped na yun serial).

Up pa natin to para mapansin. More details pa sana kasi mukang marami na sya nabenta , Kung talagang peke nga yung benta nya or me mga nahahalo lang na mga peke sana me magpost pa ng clear pix ng benta nya specially yung nakabili na sa kanya. Wag kayo mahiya kung nakabili kayo dito rin natin ma-determine kung peke nga talaga o me nakahalo lang. Para na rin sa mga future buyer and sa seller na rin kasi nga baka peke naman mga binebenta nya.. Wala kasing clear pix sa post nya sa sulit para masabi natin na peke sya.

hindi lang fake epi ang benta nyan..fake ibanez din..halos lahat fake..siguro umabot na sa daan daan ang bumili jan..ewan ko ba kung bakit..sa price na bigay nya pwede ka na makakuha ng maganda at orig  na guitar sa classifieds..kung may napeke sya at may nagrereklamo pwede nyo yan isumbong..at selling fake guitars?kaso agad yan..bagsak nyan sa kulungan..pwede nyo rin isumbong sa mga site ng guitar yan..may makukuha ka pang price..

for example : my own experience with the seller

ME    :sir i just want to inform you..i think you need to check your suppliers about the Ibanez Jem Series...
not to offend, but it's not real Jem555, its kinda custom made by someone...like china made Ibanez...
and i just realize when i asked peoples from Philmusic about the guitar..

SELLER :Actually, I already informed about that. The materials are genuine Ibanez, the manufacturer altered some specs like pick ups and bridge to lessen the cost and prevent patent issue. the soul of the guitar is still there and the quality also, so i suggest if you want the guitar to be fully loaded you need to buy those expensive parts and have it customized to Elegy, just like buying a basic car from a car company, if you want a fullly loaded one, you need to have it modified or buy some accessories.

SELLER    : Bro, I am not offended because I know and understand the truth. I know who posted that, he was a former Manager of my Father In law's company, he was terminated due to funds malversation, he was already put into investigation due to this. don't worry bro, we are not gambling our business future to this issue.
