Cross between Led Zep and VH? - Extreme's Latest Release

If you get the chance to listen to extreme's brand spanking new album would you agree that there is a bonham, old extreme and a little dash of VH seasoning in the mixing bowl, amalgamated into what is now called "Saudades de Rock".

I think this album is the missing link between III Sides To Every Story and Waiting For The Punchline...

I like it. 

this is definitely a fun sounding album opposed to the semi-depressing tone/mood that they had in Waiting For The Punchline. (lyric wise and music wise. eg. Cynical and Evilangelist)

I kind of disagree with the threadstarter about Saudades de Rock being Van Halen-influenced. I'd say it sounds more Queen than VH. From the harmonies to the solid grooves, it's Led Zep and Queen all the way. Great album though I love their new ballad, "Interface"

meron din palang queen? aba meron nga!  the songs in this album are starting to sink in and i reckon, this release is better than three sides and just about right where punchline is at.  makapag internalize nga ulit

Yup. If you listen to Gary Cherone's technique, it's pretty obvious that he spent a lot of time practicing Freddie Mercury's vocal chops (which was and still is one of the ultimate standards of rock vocal work). Extreme even played at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert back then so I guess that's already a giveaway

i agree with poundcake...there is more queen in there arrangement (extreme III) than led zep. uy napakinggan ko na yun new album! better than i expected! galing! its nice to bring good music back! the riffs the solos...yeah baby! hehehe
