Anyway, here's a list of some videos that I've seen and would highly recommend;

Steve Smith- Drum Techniques****

Stanton Moore- Modern Approach to New Orleans drumming...Take it to tho Street****

David Garibaldi- Tower of Groove*****

Dave Weckle- Back to Basics/ The Next Step - medyo outdated nga lang yung techniques nya dito since naglabas sya ng bagong series na Natural Evolution pero applicable pa din.

Gregg Bissonette- Musical Drumming..

Thomas Lang- Creative Control**** - advance na masyado 'to pero madami ka mapupulot kahit paunti-unti.

* Mga titles na talagang sa opinion ko e madami kang mapupulot na bago at kakaibang techniques

sa wkas, natapos n pag download ng Under the Table and Drumming ni Carter Beauford (tama ba).
It took me 1 week 3 days ata, discontinuously, wlang patayan kahit n pumapasok sa ofc. hehehe..

Its nice, but I could not apply what I see. Kasi siguro dahil di ko pa magets kasi di pa ko marunong.

Gusto ko bumili nyan kaya lang mahal sya kumpara sa ibang instructional videos, at parang maikli yung running time. Instructional ba talaga ng techniques yan o nag drum demo lang si Carter? Summarize mo sana dito,hmm?!?

Ok, since nacurious talaga ako sa kanya, e pinanood ko agad. Running time is about 2 hours.
Do note that I am a newbie when it comes to drumming and I may not be describing the right way. What I will be mentioning hereafter are just my own view on how I saw it.

Basically Carter shows/tells his Style, influences, set up and how to play how he plays.

He demonstrates first either by doing it first in an overview way then followed by a video of one of heir actual performance with Matthews band, or it could be the other way around.

To cut it short, his method is a show and explain video. BUT, for me the explanation is too shallow. One reason is me being new. Di ko magets kung paano aapply since bago nga ako. I strongly believe, those who are intermediate will pick up a few tricks from here.

For me, it is TIPS video. Dun parina ako s groove essential.

Eh di drum demo lang pala nung mga palo nya dun sa ilang kanta ng DMB, at ilang tips...hmm..parang promotion lng ng DMB songs

So compared to Thomas Lang & Stanton Moore's videos na naka flash yung actual sticking pattern nung bawat tinuturo nya, yang kay Carter hindi?

Curious talaga ako kasi open-handed drummer ako, kaya lang ang mahal talaga nung video na yan sa hk.

Di naman talaga drum demo, I think its for those who really knows how to drum already. Sample, a clip of his drumming, then he will discuss on the approach, then show it at actual speed/tempo, then again at a slower tempo.

Maybe its just me, since di ako marunong, di ko tuloy ma appreiate, kasi medyo advance ung palo for me, di ko kayang sundan? Lalo na pag 16 notes na.

I could guarantee though, that the groove he shows are COOL. I noticed he also love his Hats, tpos maganda rin mag fill, di masyadong OA.

Yun nga pala, he tackles those issue.

Kung maliit n file lng to, I could send it to you. Kayalng bro its 2GB per volume. 2 volumes kasi. Search ka sa Youtube, makikit amo dun, kaya lng intro lng yun.

Sige, mukhang ok naman pala e. Bili na lang din ako ng vid. Magaling din kasi si Carter Beauford,bukod sa iba sya maglagay ng accent sa groove saka yung mga fills nya kakaiba, lalo na sa odd time signatures!

Yung Tommy Igoe mo, may video ka din ba? Meron ako play-along CD lang saka book. Maganda din talaga, sulit na sulit! Gusto ko maka acquire nung video para maintindihan ko yung notations dun sa book. Di kasi ako sure kung akma yung groove na ginagawa ko e. Baka pwede mo din i-summarize yung vid (kung meron ka)

Maganda kasi talaga 'tong Groove Essentials ni Tommy,halos lahat ng genre na tackle nya,so pwede din natin i-recommend to sa mga drum brothers natin na interesado matuto ng ibat ibang genre.

gud pm bros and sis, i have some drum cd instructionals... here are some titles that i think would help us learn more different styles and gain knowledge on drumming.

1. akira jimbo fujiyama---for drum trigerring---of course his great independence din.
2. larry fin---different styles from basic rock to afro cuban drumming (halo lahat na ng style nandito) also great for starters. the good thing in this video is that his lessons are divided to 3 levels: beginner,intermediate and advance section grooves and fills.
3. peter erskine---yamaha sponsor, great for jazz drumming
4. virgril donati power drumming---for speed,endurance and accuracy
5. steve smith drumset techniques---for jazz and groove
6. steve gadd up close---different rudiments and latin variations

cge bro...i'll try to watch it later tapos PM ko sayo...regarding carter's style...okz talaga, i love how he displaces his notes on a simple 4/4. with regards to ghis video under the table and drumming...yes most of its contents were their songs, how he played it,his influences, his open hand tech, but, he also discussed his approach in phrasings, syncopations... actually the video is somewhat of a lesson...but not the spoonfeeding type. very nice video.

The DVD im into now is In Constant Motion by Mike Portnoy (courtesy of Bam0120)

. Teaches you how to play DT music, which is very helpful for me of course since im in a DT cover band. Mike really does know how to teach. Easy to understand. Straightforward. Direct to the point

Ito ngayon ang pinapanood ko working on hand technique. It is focused well on motions for the hand. The use of rebound etc.
