I'd go for restore the paint. Fill in the exact color and print. It's like restoring a vintage car.

A friend of mine had an old Maxon DD-01... forgot to take pics on how it looked before, but it was in a very battered condition paint-wise.

Here's how it originally looked (pic taken from the net):

If you're creative enough and plan to keep the pedal and want to be unique, I say let your creative juices flow. :)

Here's what we did with his pedal.. Control layout of the pedal looked like a car dashboard, so we went for a GT-inspired finish.

It was fun to do because you won't have to worry about the decals and labels afterwards, they're all on Maxon's metal plate. Haha!

Huwag na, magagasgas din iyan.  Unfortunately the area around the footswitch will always get bruised by the sole of your shoe as you step on the pedal - unless you play barefoot or stoop down and engage/dis-engage the pedal with your hands.  As long as the pedal gives the sound/effect you want then oks ka na.

some people will go to great lenghts just to make a pedal look like your pedal right now. museum quality na yan dude. used and abused and still operational.

minsan gusto ko na lang bumuo ng mga bit up at vintage pedals para sa kanya eh hehehehe

ganyan rin ginawa ko, dati nakakairita 5 out of 6 pedals, puro mint or ung iba konti lang gasgas
tapos may iisa na may vintage look, meron akong boss hm2 na ang dami ng gasgas
then I decided to buy a boss dm3...
hindi na nakakairita tignan, haha..

as time goes by even if an old pedal is repainted.
magagasgasan pa rin yan..
pero I kinda like the idea of repainting pedals for the sake of sale or trade value..
but to restore it just like what it was before wala pa atang gumagawa ng ganyan,
kung marepaint man it will not be at the same cosmetic state when it was made..
